    21 years he left The Ireland Funds and runs a consultancy company based in Dublin called Diaspora Matters which give advice on diaspora issues to governments corporates and individuals He writes and speaks extensively on Philanthropy Diaspora and Networking and in 2011 produced a Global Diaspora Strategies Toolkit and in 2012 was the keynote speaker at the Hillary Clinton Global diaspora Forum in Washington Professor Robert Brigham Vassar College Professor Robert Brigham is the Shirley Ecker Boskey Professor of History and international Relations at Vassar College A specialist in U S foreign policy Bob teaches a wide range of courses covering the history of U S diplomacy human rights and international relations along with several teaching awards he has also earned fellowships from the Rockefeller Foundation the Mellon Foundation the National Endowment for Humanities the smith Richardson Foundation and the Ford Foundation In addition he has been Albert Shaw Endowed Lecturer at Johns Hopkins University Mellon Senior Visiting Scholar at Cambridge University Clare College visiting professor of international relations at Watson Institute for Inteernational Relations in Vietnam summer seminar faculty at the United States Military Academy at West Point and Mary Ball Washington Professor of American History Fulbright at University College Dublin He is also an elected member of the London based International Institute for Security Studies the world s leading authority on global security Prof Maurice Bric University College Dublin Prof Maeve Conrick University College Dublin Professor Maeve Conrick was educated at UCC First Class Honours BA and MA the Université de Neuchâtel Switzerland Swiss Government Scholarship and the Université de Provence Aix Marseille 1 France NUI Travelling Studentship in French She completed her doctorate in Linguistics at Aix Marseille I France under the direction of Professor Georges Mounin Her research interests are primarily in the areas of Applied Linguistics and Sociolinguistics with particular reference to French and English and include Language Policy and Language Planning Language and Gender Canadian Studies and Québec studies In 2012 she was awarded the degree of Doctor of Literature DLitt a higher doctorate on published work by the National University of Ireland NUI Career distinctions to date include an appointment as Specialist Advisor to a UK House of Commons Committee and the Prix du Québec awarded by the Government of Québec She has contributed actively to many national and international professional associations and has held office on the Executive Committee of the British Association of Applied Linguistics the European Second Language Association Treasurer as a Director of the Association internationale des études québécoises and the International Council for Canadian Studies and as President of the Association for Canadian Studies in Ireland She is currently Chair of the Royal Irish Academy RIA Committee on Modern Language Literary and Cultural Studies and a Director of the Ireland Canada University Foundation ICUF In 2011 she was appointed by the Irish Government as a member of the Higher Education Authority HEA and has been its Deputy Chair since 2012 For details on her publications click here Prof
