    Research Projects The Institute currently supports three dedicated collaborative projects to spearhead our research culture These two year projects are directed by Irish based scholars who work with national and international scholars and professionals to create research networks devoted to study of the selected topics The project leaders co ordinate the work of their international group and organize workshops focused on their topics Dissemination of the research will be through international conferences workshops and publications The American Irish A Visual Ethnography Project Director Dr Jamie Saris NUI Maynooth War and American Identity Project Director Dr David Ryan University College Cork The US and Northern Ireland A Transatlantic Perspective on Problems Solutions 1968 2000 Project Director Dr Maurice Bric University College Dublin In 2008 the Clinton Institute launches a new research project on Photography and International Conflict directed by Prof Liam Kennedy This project is funded by the IRCHSS following a successful application for a Thematic Project Grant Photography International Conflict back to top The Clinton Institute will foster interdisciplinary research on the US by developing a broad programme of research seminars and events and by establishing a number of projects which will focus key research concerns of Institute staff and associates The continued growth of a vibrant research culture is a core element in UCD s research strategy and the Institute will seek to advance further this institutional commitment The Research Seminar is a major illustration of the dynamic research culture supported by the Institute It draws on advanced researchers in Ireland and beyond and evidences the Institute s aim to create a research centre for study of the US in Ireland It is also a key component of an enabling environment for research that also includes projects conducted by doctoral students and post doctoral and visiting fellows The Institute

    applying to intern at the Clinton Global Initiative was its success in combining corporate philanthropic and governmental forces in support of so many terrific causes world wide CGI facilitates the building and development of its commitments by connecting members and organizations together providing a forum within which they can work and build relations and also by communicating the results of their work My position within the CGI was in the girls and women s commitment track The primary function of this track is to try to integrate the girls and women s lens into all aspects of CGI policy and programming Most of my work was content based as well as building and maintaining on going communications with members and organizations that were affiliated with the girls and women s track meeting some of the most interesting and admirable people I have come across I spent much of my time preparing for the annual CGI meeting a huge event organized to convene leaders from different sectors and from all over the world to drive action One of my largest projects was to help organize the Girls and Women Pre Conference Strategy Session which features people like Melanne Verveer Valerie Jarret
