    Tobin Anita Rogers and Emma Parkinson were winners of the recent 2nd round of the Womens Meet and Train league Their score of 64 points put them 8 points ahead of Clonliffe Harriers A while third spot went to Sportworld A on 78 points The final round of the league will be at Santry Demesne Trim Athletes on podium at universities championships The Athlone Institute of Technology indoor arena was the venue for the Irish Universities Athletics Championships last Friday Two members of Trim AC took part and both of them came away with medals Shane Aston representing DCU finished second in the pentathlon with 2897 points His scores were 60m hurdles 8 84s 781 pts 1000m 3m19 10s 489 pts HJ 1 70m 544 pts LJ 55 63m 508pts SP 11 48m 575pts In the long jump David Tobin representing UU Jordanstown jumped 6 90m to finish third Next weekend Aston and Tobin will be joined by Harry Purcell at the Leinster Athletics indoor championships in the same venue Purcell will be competing in the 400 metres and event in which he set an Irish Schools senior record last summer Sportsmans Duathlon The Setanta Triathlon club launched their 2015 duathlon series on Sunday morning at Ravensdale Co Louth While most of the country was experiencing dangerously foggy conditions the sun shone on over 200 competitors who took to the roads Trim athletes were prominent among the prize winners Ellen Vitting got her tri year off to a great start with an excellent third place overall in the womens competition In the W30 39 grade Denise Molloy put in a great performance to finish third while victory in the M60 grade went to David Hawcroft Join our club Contact us today if you are interested in finding out more about
