  • Killybegs Jobs Claim Challenged By Deputy Pringle and Local Business Man John Shine – Thomas Pringle TD
of the Task Force told the Democrat on Monday that 80 of the 250 jobs had ALREADY BEEN DELIVERED and were ON STREAM mainly in seafood processing However it was not possible to obtain exact details of the jobs A bim Spokesperson said yesterday that the jobs announced are projected to be created over a three year period under the seafood processing business investment scheme She added Under this scheme company details must remain confidential so BIM are not in a position to outline the specifics set out under the companies business plans FALSE HOPE TO THE PEOPLE OF DONEGAL Deputy Pringle said he was very disappointed that Monday s statement referred to job projections rahtn than jobs that are up and running On that basis you could say that they dleivered 250 jobs at the launch in July It s all just projections Hopefully these jobs will be created but at this stage it s an aspiration not a reality It s creating a false hope to act is if the jobs are actually there on the ground now It s also vitally important to ensure that what jobs are created are in fact new jobs and not simply redeployment of existing jobs There has to be a net gain for the Town Thomas also states I hope this isn t going to go the way of the Government s Jobs Initiative which was launched with great fanfare but then it proved impossible to find out what jobs had actually been created FISHING FOR JOBS John Shine of the Fishing for Jobs Initiative agreed with Deputy Pringle John states that he is calling on the members of the Jobs Task Force to substaniate their claims of delivering 80 Jobs As John says our group Fishing for Jobs welcomses any
