  • PRINGLE WELCOMES COMMON FISHERIES POLICY REFORM – Thomas Pringle TD
additional quota will be provided although this was said to be a concession While this has to happen and is welcome I wonder how it will be policed during this transition period We need measures that ensure all fish that come over the rail are landed and we need to find ways to ensure fishermen are not penalised Whether they achieve the full economic value of that fish is perhaps a method that could be used to ensure discarding is eliminated completely and that we do not force it further underground Aquaculture has huge potential for us The Minister has been very proactive in terms of the offshore proposals and trying to develop that area further However I do not know how a Regional Advisory Council RAC for aquaculture would add anything to the equation and we have our own difficulties in dealing with the Natura 2000 sites Many jobs could be created in inshore aquaculture throughout the country and many companies would be in a position to avail of that if the licensing regime was sorted out The RACs might only add another layer of bureaucracy and control into that situation I do not see where the value could be in terms of aquaculture unless it is in regard to the offshore and deep water developments added Pringle It is also a positive development that the Minister will be chair of the Council of Ministers during the final stages of the review There is no doubt he has taken a very proactive role in regard to fisheries and has a lot of knowledge in the area He can bring that to bear in terms of the final make up of the CFP Overall the news is positive There will be measures and issues to be ironed out with regard

  • PRINGLE CONDEMNS LOSS OF SERVICES AT CREGG HOUSE – Thomas Pringle TD
providing services for 57 years for people with intellectual disabilities which has provided residential and day services benefiting families across the North West and many families across Donegal all of whom have been very happy with the standard of service Since 2005 Cregg House has had higher reductions in support than equivalent services This morning Minister Quinn said that the service provider Wisdom Services decided voluntarily to withdraw service This is at best disingenuous 2012 saw a 1 3m reduction in HSE funding for Cregg House since 2008 there has been a total reduction of 4m To put this in context the Minister of State for the Department of Foreign Affairs spent 1 3m on consultancy services in the last year for reports that went mainly unread To see wastage like this when these vital services have had to be withdrawn is a disgrace added Pringle In a statement sent last night by Wisdom Services they stated We sincerely hope that the HSE can in the future secure the funding required to provide people with disabilities in this area with modern accommodation suited to their needs Minister Lynch claims those who are currently receiving services will continue to have the service provided But how is this possible when Wisdom Services withdrew their services as a result of cuts to HSE funding and if HSE funding is to be provided then at what standard I demand that the HSE and the Government provide the funding to Wisdom Services to continue the service and ensure that there is no disruption to services for extremely vulnerable people stated Pringle Be Sociable Share Previous Story PRINGLE SIGNALS FISCAL CRISIS AS PAVE WAY TO EU FEDERALISATION Next Story PRINGLE WELCOMES COMMON FISHERIES POLICY REFORM About admin Contact Info Killybegs Constituency Office Connolly House Bridge Street

  • PRINGLE SIGNALS FISCAL CRISIS AS PAVE WAY TO EU FEDERALISATION – Thomas Pringle TD
of EU leaders stating that the euro zone needs much stronger banking and fiscal integration and enhanced governance and that the road to achieving these will be spelled out by a report of top European Union officials If this isn t the beginning of federalisation of Europe then I don t know what is added Pringle This debate is one that needs addressing as to what may well be veiled plans to federalise Europe and how Ireland may well be set to reverse to dominion status of 1949 this time to Europe rather than to the Commonwealth stated Pringle Be Sociable Share Previous Story Pringle Criticises Hogan on Lack of Building Control Next Story PRINGLE CONDEMNS LOSS OF SERVICES AT CREGG HOUSE One Comment Peter Pipesmoker 14th June 2012 at 3 18 pm I think Tom has got it on the money I hope he wins his case to have a Referendum on the ESM a dangerous CIA like Banking construct almost Orwellian in it s conception entity which will control ordinary citizens lives through the conditionality of it s lending conditions to enslaved country s like Ireland who through the stupidity of their Politicians and the passivity of their Urbanised Middle Classes and the simple greed and bribery of rural farmers have sealed the country s fate and it s future Of course it will be eventually realised in the end by the remaining Irish people left living here for the huge mistake this whole EU project experiment has been all far too late Probably the lack of Prosperity ever returning and the continuing negative overall Economic performance results year after year will eventually get the insiders the ZANU PF types like in Zimbabwe in the sense that no matter how hopeless things get for the vast majority of the ordinary population the Governing elites will be able to rely on certain powerful caucuses to keep the others in check and winning Elections as I call them to realise that it was a giant flop that ultimately destroyed the Beautiful Productive Country they once lived in What will be interesting to see is do the remaining younger people who don t immigrate ultimately violently rebel against their hopeless situation and this ruling Caucas and like with Israel and Palestine and USA backing extend their resistance to the EU Death Star Mother Ship as well who presumably will be relied upon for additional resources by the local Dail Junta to enforce Order and Stability Indeed were such an eventuality to happen it would actually assist the EU Mother Ship in providing excuses for why Ireland continues to Economically fail In many ways what is happening in Ireland reminds me of Adlai Stevenson in his failed US Presidential Bid of 1956 when a Radio Interviewer famously said at the end of an interview Every right thinking American is with you Mr Stevenson and Stevenson said in response I know the problem is I need a majority In some ways that sums

  • Pringle Criticises Hogan on Lack of Building Control – Thomas Pringle TD
builders that developers and builders themselves can live up to those obligations and the local authorities that are responsible for enforcing the legislation are able to do that and that they do so That is where the Government s responsibility lies It is wrong for the Minister to state that he does not have such responsibility The Minister indicated he is to bring forward proposals to change the situation He referred to shared services within local authorities and how local authorities will come together on a regional basis If the person responsible for building control in Donegal is shared between Sligo and Leitrim where one person in each of those counties is also responsible there will still not be any enforcement or control We need enforcement and control to ensure the quality of the built environment It is not right to expect homeowners who have no expertise or ability to ensure that is done and to expect them to deal with the situation and say they must paddle their own canoe and deal with whatever problems arise with their house by means of civil remedies The system of self certification is not working added Pringle We must ensure such a system is in place that inspection rates are increased and that continuous inspections are made throughout the construction phase to ensure that standards are maintained Only by doing that can we ensure that people are required to live up to the building standards required by the self certification system to which they have signed up I call on the Minister to ensure that the system in future guarantees that people can have confidence that they will get a product that stands up to wear and tear stated Pringle Be Sociable Share Previous Story Pringle Calls on Government to Tackle Corruption

  • Pringle Calls on Government to Tackle Corruption in Ireland – Thomas Pringle TD
register of lobbyists to ensure that policy making is not skewed in favour of special interests Addressing the issue today to Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore at Leaders Questions the Independent TD for Donegal South West stated I understand that the legislation is in the drafting stage but can we be more specific and please don t bother to bring out that very long finger like Pinocchio s nose it will soon fall off if it gets any longer Minister Howlin stated in March that a white paper on this matter would be published within weeks with legislation to follow Now Gilmore tells us that the Heads of the Bill haven t even been drafted but is expected to be ready by the end of the summer This is simply not good enough for such an important issue It is quite interesting how Labour seems to have gone to the dark side on this matter when they were quite vocal on the opposition benches regarding lobbying and vested interests etc not so long ago added Pringle What is needed is the prioritisation of this legislation and a statutory register of lobbyists which must be mandatory if it is to be effective But it is very clear that the Government is in no hurry on this matter The Mahon and Moriarty tribunals have clearly shown us just how much corruption has been embedded in Irish politics over the years Now is the time to act stated Pringle Be Sociable Share Previous Story Pringle Calls for Immediate Reversal of Hospital Catchment Policy Next Story Pringle Criticises Hogan on Lack of Building Control About admin Contact Info Killybegs Constituency Office Connolly House Bridge Street Killybegs Co Donegal 074 97 41880 thomas pringle oir ie Latest News Look out for my General Election 2016 newsletter February

  • Pringle Calls for Immediate Reversal of Hospital Catchment Policy – Thomas Pringle TD
reach a final position in relation to individuals who reside outside a particular hospital s catchment area and require specialist treatment In the meantime all hospitals have been advised to stop refusing to accept referrals of patients from outside their catchment area They have also been requested to reverse any such decisions implemented since the start of this year While I welcome the recent attention this issue has received and that this matter will be reviewed with a view to reaching a final position on the catchment area issue an immediate and complete reversal of hospital catchment policy is the only satisfactory solution At this very moment there are seriously ill people across the country who have been refused treatment from these specialist hospitals with no alternative arrangements in place I m sure they re grateful that this issue is being looked into and that the Minister has requested that these hospitals implement the interim measures immediately but I have yet to hear from anyone who has been contacted following this announcement added Pringle Last week I called for this matter to be addressed immediately As it stands the interim measures appear not to be fully in place or implemented at all so there is little hope of the catchment issue being resolved any time soon If this current Government ever hopes to achieve a universal healthcare system they need to start by not refusing to treat patients because of where they come from stated Pringle Be Sociable Share Previous Story Pringle Criticises Gilmore on Dublin Hospitals Catchment Crisis Next Story Pringle Calls on Government to Tackle Corruption in Ireland One Comment brix 5th June 2012 at 7 21 pm so if ur area doesnt have a cancer center like donegal removed by the hse then u are unable to

  • Pringle Criticises Gilmore on Dublin Hospitals Catchment Crisis – Thomas Pringle TD
now being refused treatment because they are not from the catchment area of the hospital It appears that the hospitals are not being funded by the HSE for these treatments because the patients live in a certain part the country and are now being forced to cease treating these patients One young woman from Donegal has been refused treatment in St Vincent s Hospital The hospital removed a spinal stimulator from her back for an MRI scan and has now refused to replace it because they say they have no funding for it as she s not from the catchment area of the hospital This is utter madness stated Pringle The Minister for Health talks about money following the patient The Labour party says it has a policy for universal health care to ensure that everyone receives timely treatment How can Labour ever hope to achieve a universal health care system when they can t even provide treatment for people just because of where they come from Is this the type of treatment that Irish people can look forward to under Labour s Way The whole situation is ludicrous and is outright discrimination against these people This matter must be addressed immediately stated Pringle Be Sociable Share Previous Story Pringle Attacks Taoiseach on ESM Bank Bailouts Next Story Pringle Calls for Immediate Reversal of Hospital Catchment Policy 2 Comments Why Interior Design 26th May 2012 at 11 06 pm I am actually delighted to glance at this web site posts which carries plenty of helpful facts thanks for providing these data M Cowley 31st May 2012 at 6 40 pm Your dead right The money is not following the patient it s following the hospital consultants and executives as top up payments to swell their already bulging state funded salaries

  • Pringle Attacks Taoiseach on ESM Bank Bailouts – Thomas Pringle TD
Article 15 of the ESM states that The ESM may decide to grant loans for the specific purpose of recapitalisation of the financial institutions of the ESM member Why the Government wants to sign us up to the biggest socialisation of bank debt across Europe is a mystery to me The ESM Bill which was published last week in effect legalises our bank guarantee in Europe If a member needs to recapitalise their banks the funding will be lent to the member state and paid on to the bank therefore the banking debt becomes the taxpayer debt The ESM can t recapitalise banks directly it loans money to taxpayers who in turn give the money to the banking systems The creation of this pan European bank debt is unsustainable and is a feeble attempt to cover up the real problems that lie within the heart of the EU with a measure which simply hasn t got the capacity to deliver As it stands the ESM could if Ireland were to be subject to it call on Ireland to make contributions of up to 11 1 billion in various forms of capital In effect it the ESM can direct the State to raise sovereign debt give the money so raised to it and can decide where when whether and how it is spent This is utterly nonsensical The panacea of the ESM that the Government purports to be necessary for future funding is actually going to sign up Irish taxpayers to the continued funding of bank bailout debt across Europe stated Pringle Be Sociable Share Previous Story Pringle Welcomes Offshore Oil and Gas Exploration Report Next Story Pringle Criticises Gilmore on Dublin Hospitals Catchment Crisis One Comment Maggie 16th May 2012 at 11 38 pm Well done keep at them Thomas
