    repersented the school in the Laois county spelling bee final Tag rugby continues each Thursday Our School Scoil an Chroí Ró Naofa The Swan opened on 7th May 1956 with 27 boys and 16 girls registered in the school Children from The Swan previously attended Wolfhill N S It is a two teacher school under the patronage of the Catholic Bishop of Kildare and Leighlin The school was extended in 2006 and now has 4 classrooms L S Room lunch area and staffroom The school became known as The Swan N S but has recently begun using the original name Scoil an Chroí Ró Naofa Our School Crest Our school crest was created by Bruce Wilkie 6th Class 2008 He used the image of the Sacred Heart and an image of a swan to incorporate both the original and local names of the school Aims of our school 1 To help create a friendly safe and stimulating environment and to encourage and enhance pupils self confidence 2 To develop all our children intellectually spiritually and socially 3 By our good example and behaviour to help each child develop qualities of good character a sense of responsibility towards others and a
