    submit the following documentation by post prior to attending at the Council offices by prior appointment to complete the registration process and obtain their individual Licence to Practice 1 An original letter of good standing dated within the last three months must be sent directly from the competent authority in the Member State where they are currently registered 2 Original certified copy of qualifications which entitles them to be registered with the competent authority in the Member State of origin or the Member State from which they come 3 Original certified copy of full results per subject for final year of veterinary studies 4 Certified copy of the ID page of passport Original English translations of documentation and letter of good standing must be submitted where applicable The applicant must made an appointment to attend at the Council offices to complete the registration process and present the originals of all documents submitted for verification at this stage and pay the relevant fees B Opening a veterinary premises A veterinary surgeon who is seeking to open a veterinary premises in Ireland must first be registered with the Veterinary Council and obtain their licence to practise In order to register a veterinary premises the following documentation must be submitted along with the relevant fee to the Veterinary Council Every registered person who practises veterinary medicine in Ireland shall do so at a premises which is registered and to which a Certificate of Suitability has been issued Only a registered person can hold a Certificate of Suitability in respect of a premises The registered person intending to register a premises must submit 1 Premises Accreditation Scheme PAS declaration form reference 26 0 2 2 PAS Application for Certificate of Suitability and Self Assessment Questionnaire form reference 26 0 3 3 Relevant registration fee

    A veterinary surgeon who wishes to provide cross border veterinary services in Ireland must submit the following original supporting documentation by post to the Veterinary Council of Ireland before providing veterinary services 1 A declaration of their intention to provide services in Ireland advising of the dates and location where services will be provided 2 A completed Provision of Services declaration 9 4 11 form which can be obtained from the Veterinary Council or downloaded from the Veterinary Council s website 3 Arrange for the competent authority in their Member State to send a provision of services certificate to the Veterinary Council of Ireland stating that they are lawfully exercising their profession in the Member State and confirm that they are in possession of a qualification recognised under EU Directive 2005 36 EC The documents received will be reviewed and if everything is in order the Registrar will issue a letter confirming permission to provide services for the specified period How to submit documentation Initial documents can be scanned and sent electronically to the Veterinary Council of Ireland However all original documentation must be sent by post to the Veterinary Council of Ireland prior to the granting of permission to
