    setup migration P2V implantation and on going support services for the environment Solution PFH proposed a virtual solution on Microsoft Hyper V Server Platform incorporating a SAN and Network upgrade from SBS to full versions of Windows Server 2012 Exchange 2013 and Active Directory This new platform was used to deliver desktop and application services to local and remote users on any device anywhere with an internet connection This solution is based on combining the latest technologies to provide an integrated solution that utilises the latest in Windows and cloud technologies to provide an efficient and reliable platform for the business to grow with as their business needs grow PFH migrated Colorman s AD Domain from a Windows 2003 to 2012 Functional Level and moved all their data from an old 2003 server to a new 2012 R2 VM A three node Hyper V cluster was installed with an MSA2000 G3 SAN to make all the new VM s highly available PFH delivered a Disaster Recovery solution using a fourth Hyper V host which was setup in another building as a disaster recovery server This server was connected to a HP Storeasy 1440 NAS as its storage and a replication job using Veeam was created which made copies of all production VM s PFH upgraded their e mail system from Exchange 2003 to on premise Exchange 2013 All XP machines were replaced with Window 7 PC s with Office 2013 OVS licences installed on them Benefits By building the solution on Microsoft it has been ensured that Colorman are prepared for any future projects in terms of cloud mobility and security offerings These technologies improve both scalability and performance helping to deliver and manage a cost effective IT ecosystem It also meets the demands of flexible on the go working

    which delivers increased performance reliability security About us Ireland s largest indigenous ICT services company since 1985 with offices in Dublin Cork and Galway Management Team Our Partners Case Studies News Events PFH implement an Enterprise Infrastructure Solution which delivers increased performance reliability security PFH Technology design implement and managed a enterprise infrastructure solution using HP 3 Par storage StoreOnce backup and MSL tape backup The project was completed live on the customers environment with minimal disruption and on time Challenge A Government Agency had a need to replace its aging Storage Area Network infrastructure The costs of maintaining the system were increasing and due for renewal with the current vendor The Agency decided to tender for a replacement environment and PFH were successful in winning the contract Solution PFH were contracted to replace their storage and backup platforms inclusive of the switching and to migrate their data between the legacy and new systems PFH supplied architected and delivered a resilient 3PAR storage solution a resilient StoreOnce backup solution and an MSL tape backup module PFH also provided the professional services required to manage the implementation and to carry out the data migration between the legacy storage and the new 3PAR storage The solution included the installation and commissioning of the new storage and backups platforms the migration of customer data 120TB from the legacy platforms to the new solutions and the decommissioning of the legacy platforms The installation and migration activities were completed in the customer s live environment with business critical data being migrated between platforms with minimal disruption to end user systems and no adverse effects to the customer s data retention A mixture of migration approaches were utilised based on the configuration of servers related to each application PFH completed the installation of the new storage

    in Dublin Cork and Galway Management Team Our Partners Case Studies News Events Nationwide rollout of VDI solution to a large National Utility PFH rolled out a nationwide hosted shared desktop solution using Citrix XenApp 6 5 to this large utility company which included virtualising all applications and desktops giving them a standardised secure environment while lowering costs Challenge A national utility was faced with a requirement to provide a consistent desktop and application experience to a disparate set of stakeholders ranging from internal and mobile direct employees to various third parties and contractors As a utility body security was a key requirement as was the ability for flexibility and low administration overhead Solution PFH designed and implemented a hosted shared desktop solution utilising Citrix XenApp 6 5 This allowed for the virtualisation of applications and desktops Remote access was provided through a Citrix Netscaler Access Gateway solution using 2 factor authentication RSA key and password To align the user experience across stakeholders Citrix Provisioning Services was used to keep all Citrix XenApp server images identical and the cross platform capabilities provided by the Citrix Receiver ensured no changes were required for 3rd party external users The solution also enabled

  • Acorn Life Group deliver Office 365 and Cloud Migration with PFH | PFH Technology Group
    much more affordable easier to manage and leveraged the investment made on Microsoft technologies already in use such as Microsoft Dynamics CRM To that end the IT Management team at Acorn Life were focused on delivery of a wide range of strategic technological improvements on the Microsoft stack to help meet these requirements Solution PFH a long standing Microsoft Gold Partner were chosen to assist Acorn Life Group in developing a product roadmap and strategy using Microsoft Office 365 cloud based productivity suite for the group s growing business needs Given the wide reaching nature of these projects a project steering group including representatives from Acorn PFH and Microsoft was established so that project priorities were quickly identified and the order for delivery agreed PFH participated in multiple workshops with Acorn s IT team and led on the design and implementation of leading edge solutions through its highly skilled Professional Services team PFH began by working with Acorn to plan the implementation of a Microsoft Lync Voice solution that also integrated with a new Contact Centre to handle both inbound and outbound call centre operations PFH lead this project from design to pilot and final implementation The focus in parallel was to migrate messaging and collaboration to the cloud through Exchange online SharePoint online and Yammer As part of this migration PFH designed a Hybrid Azure based solution that integrated with Acorn s on premise Data Centre for added resilience on Active Directory and simplification between cloud and on premise operations The core infrastructure at Acorn was also upgraded to support this hybrid model and the new Contact Centre was deployed on a Windows Server 2012 R2 RDS Farm Client PC s were replaced by HP Thin Clients which meant a more secure manageable and high performance solution for both end users and IT operations When completed this new environment seamlessly integrated with Lync 2013 and the Enghouse Contact Centre What was delivered PFH delivered a solution that utilised Office 365 for email and collaboration a unified communications and telephony solution based on Lync 2013 as well as base infrastructure upgrades and migration services to support the initiative Infrastructure as a Service IaaS for resilience of Active Directory and Office 365 integration was provided as well as platform changes on premise to expand RDS Remote Desktop Services and legacy telephony integration A new telephone gateway and automated dialler was deployed and integrated with the legacy Alcatel system for seamless communication PFH implemented full Active Directory integration with Office 365 for seamless access to mail and other Office 365 tools Given the reliance on connectivity to Active Directory on the local premises for access to Office 365 the design incorporated active directory and synchronisation services operating from the PFH Cloud based on Azure to ensure no loss of access to cloud services Benefits Acorn Life and Acorn Insurance now have a structured hybrid solution that provides for instant business flexibility in terms of data collaboration new user deployment email services and

    email services CoAction suffered regular service interruptions for various reasons and when these occurred branch access to data and email would be unavailable Solution PFH partnered with CoAction to analyse the problems being encountered and to assess how to support these services to enable the organisation to provide a better service We began by completing our standard Cloud Readiness Assessment This is PFH s proven standardised process for guiding medium sized organisations in determining their initial cloud strategy with a view to preparing plans to implement a level of cloud adoption The process follows a formula that is customised for the market to Analyse the business requirement Analyse current systems for cloud fit Analyse the security requirements Analyse support and adoption requirements Define the implementation requirements The resulting readiness assessment was presented reviewed and costs for implementation and management prepared CoAction then decided to proceed with the plan and PFH moved to implement the solution What we delivered PFH delivered a hybrid cloud solution that comprised of Infrastructure as a Service IaaS for file and Active Directory services coupled with remote desktop services in the cloud Mail was migrated to Microsoft Office 365 and a new VPN based WAN solution put in place that centred on Azure and Office 365 as opposed to connecting back to Bantry PFH approached the implementation with the guiding tenant of ensuring continuous service access The meant planning migration of the cloud candidate solutions in a manner that maintained access and ensured the network connectivity was also maintained The output from the readiness fit identified that Payroll systems and a local domain controller should remain on premise Azure site to site VPN s would be commissioned to connect each of the five CoAction locations to Azure which inherently then removes the single point of failure

    Events PFH Technology provide a complete enterprise storage solution upgrade to a large government body PFH was engaged by a large Irish Government body to work with them in recommending and implementing a complete enterprise storage solution that would provide them with advanced features higher performance and lower support costs Challenge PFH have a longstanding relationship with this government body which spans for almost 10 years Solutions provided include large storage solutions and data management solutions As time went by there was a huge increases in demand for storage capacity driven by new projects which also necessitated a significant expansion of the existing infrastructure Their existing storage solution was over 5 years old and was becoming very expensive to maintain In addition it lacked some of the advanced features of the latest generation of technologies and these factors combined to present a dilemma in terms of the merit of a significant investment in increased capacity Reductions in budget meant that the budget to support the required expansion was not sufficient Solution PFH as the companies trusted advisor was asked to make recommendations on a new system Having examined the current and future storage requirements PFH concluded that the optimal storage solution to support the demands of the organisation over the coming years consisted of replacing the existing storage platform with a next generation solution The clear advantage of this approach related to the innovation provided by advanced features higher performance and lower support costs In particular the advanced data reduction technologies provided by the latest generation array resulted in significantly reduced capacity by comparison with the previous generation technology Benefits The total cost of the new solution was in the region of 2 million which was far higher than the available budget PFH structured a flexible lease plan which leveraged
