    drawing up of the Syllabus every year Students Committee Projects Student Visit to Joyce Centre The Student Committee is elected every two years and organizes a range of activities for the students as well as helping out with organization of the college In addition to the usual events the Christmas Party Thursday 12th December this year and the Students Annual General Meeting it will organize a range of educational social and cultural activities during the year including visits to sites and exhibitions of topical interest and conferences and work shops on key current issues During the year it organized events at the week ends a Tour of the 1916 Mount Street Battle Site the Botanic Gardens a first walking tour of 1913 Lock Out sites and a visit to Bully s Acre the oldest graveyard in Dublin Of particular significance this year will be remembering the 1913 Lockout lectures events and further tours of the relevant sites will be organized Information about these and there events will be circulated in classes on the website facebook Members of the Student Committee Tony Black Chair Paddy Glavin Vice Chair Bernie Grant Secretary Norah McDermott Treasurer Eileen Courtney Evelyn Lucas Brigid Mulligan Hugh

    Email Bernie Grant hotmail com or check out our website at http www pcds ie The Choir People s College Choir The People s College Choir has vacancies for a small number of new members in the soprano tenor and bass lines the alto line is currently full The choir has 49 members 29 female and 20 male and was founded in 1993 as part of the wider cultural programme of courses and subjects offered by the People s College The members come from the greater Dublin region and the choir sings a wide range of musical styles from madrigals spirituals and traditional Irish airs to arrangements of modern popular songs The choir generally performs at concerts and college social events and has participated in festivals both at home and abroad having travelled to Denmark 2000 Italy 2004 and Austria 2008 The choir has taken part in exchanges with other choirs which brought it to France 2006 Spain 2010 and is travelling again in October of this year to France La Rochelle where we will perform in concert with Ré Sonance Ile de Ré While the ability to read music would be a definite asset it is not by any means a requirement for membership of the choir indeed most of our members do not read music If you can sing and hold a tune that is all that is required we will teach you the rest If you are interested in joining please contact the Musical Director Paul Walsh via the college or turn up in advance at one our rehearsals which are held on Tuesday nights at 8 30 pm in the Teacher s Club Parnell Square For new members rehearsals resume Tuesday 15th October 2013 Drama Group Not enough drama in your life Then why not join
