    Hynes chairman Bord Gáis Rose Hynes was appointed to the Board of Bord Gáis in June 2006 and was subsequently appointed chairman in July 2009 Bord Gáis is the main supplier and distributor of pipeline natural gas in the country having built an extensive network across Ireland In her role as chairman Hynes chairs the remuneration committee and is also a member of the investment infrastructure committee of Bord Gáis Hynes a lawyer by profession is also chairman of Shannon Airport Authority a position she was appointed to in December 2012 having previously been a member of board from 2003 08 In her role Hynes is responsible for overseeing the running of the airport She has extensive experience in the aviation sector having headed up the Aviation Business Development Task Force that reported into the Government Steering Group on proposals for the restructuring of State airports and Shannon Development Aviation expertise Since her appointment as chairman of Shannon Airport Authority Hynes has made passenger growth a priority for the airport as well as the development of the Shannon International Aviation Services Centre At the time of her appointment Shannon Airport director Mary Considine welcomed the announcement saying Rose brings vast business and aviation experience to the position of chairman of the new Shannon Airport Authority She has in her role as chairman of the Aviation Business Development Task Force spent the last six months building a sustainable and strategic vision for the future of our airport We have every confidence in Shannon s ability under her chairmanship to deliver on its role as a key economic driver for the greater West of Ireland region and we look forward to working with her and delivering a sustainable new era of success for Shannon Hynes is also a director of Total Produce

    IT Technical Non Executive Directors Operations Sales Marketing Commercial Supply Chain Procurement MERC Partners Leadership Breakfast Series with Prof Ian Robertson The Winner Effect MERC Partners held its fourth Leadership Breakfast Seminar in The Four Seasons Hotel bringing together over ninety business professionals with an interest in leadership for a morning of enlightenment and networking Aoife Bradshaw Principal Consultant with MERC Partners opened proceedings and introduced the guest speaker for the event Professor Ian Robertson Professor of Psychology at Trinity College Dublin and author of The Winner Effect a topic very much in keeping with the leadership series theme of growth and positivity A fellow psychologist Bradshaw highlighted how the premise of The Winner Effect relates particularly well to a business landscape but that the notion of winning underpins every area of our lives success can change the chemistry of the brain making you more focused smarter and more confident Professor Robertson s book answers the question of why some people achieve and then handle success so much better than others Before his current position at Trinity College Dublin Professor Robertson was a Senior Scientist at the MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit and a fellow of Hughes Hall at the University of Cambridge He is a clinical psychologist and neuroscientist and as well as having numerous visiting Professor positions he is a sought after keynote speaker and has presented at TEDX conferences In his presentation The Winner Effect The Science of Success and How to Use It Professor Robertson opened with the question what breeds success The answer is simply success Success perpetuates success by increasing our levels of testosterone and dopamine The more successful we are the more permanently our brains are altered because we produce more receiving areas for testosterone thus incrementally improving our likelihood of future
