    Governing Body Useful Information Academic Calendar Freedom Of Information Reports Procedures Plans Useful Links Vacancies LIT STAFF Search the staff directory CONTACT US Contact Details LIT Moylish Park Limerick Ireland Phone 353 61 293000 Fax 353 61 293001 Email Information lit ie News LIT News Item Pen and Pixel multimedia exhibition News Pen Pixel Multimedia Exhibition Pen and Pixel is an annual creative multimedia exhibition held by the students of Limerick Institute of Technology in Clonmel This year the event will be held on Thursday the 22nd of May at 6 00pm in the Clonmel campus of Limerick School of Art and Design The annual event has slowly transformed into a spectacular end of year exhibition As part of the exhibition we are showcasing the work of students from the past year This exhibition will feature both digital and analogue pieces from the students of LSAD Clonmel The exhibition allows students to showcase their creative talents to the public In the past the event has been known as Digital Expressions and since 2011 the name has been changed to Pen Pixel It was felt that this new name better reflected the creative process of designing and then creating a piece of work This year there has been a particular emphasis placed on showcasing both digital and analogue work spanning the entire range of the multimedia sector The exhibition will showcase students work under the following categories Printing Drawing Illustration Graphic Design Photography Digitally Displayed Interactive Work 2D Animation 3D Animation Applications Game Design Projections Websites Non Interactive Work 2D Animation 3D Animation Audio Video Students can submit work in the following ways Handing it to a Pen Pixel member Uploading it to our Mega account Email your submission to E mail penandpixel2014 gmail com Meet the Pen Pixel Co ordination

    Body Useful Information Academic Calendar Freedom Of Information Reports Procedures Plans Useful Links Vacancies LIT STAFF Search the staff directory CONTACT US Contact Details LIT Moylish Park Limerick Ireland Phone 353 61 293000 Fax 353 61 293001 Email Information lit ie News LIT News Item LIT Masters Students visit US University News LIT Masters Students visit US University Fourteen Limerick Institute of Technology LIT students on the Masters in Marketing and Management Strategy programme recently undertook a week long study abroad trip to New York and Connecticut The trip formed part of the international perspective element of the LIT Masters programme which is delivered using Problem Based Learning in which students learn about a subject through engagement in a real problem It is a format that develops problem solving strategies by placing students in the active role of problem solvers confronted with issues that they are likely to face as future professionals in complex organisations As part of the study trip the students spent two days in New York visiting the American Ireland Fund a not for profit philanthropic company and also Sterling Brands an international brand consultancy company whose clients include Google Nestle Disney and Visa The students rounded off the trip with a visit to Post University in Connecticut where they networked and engaged with members of the US universities faculty Head of School of Business and Humanities at LIT Donnacha McNamara travelled with the students on the trip We deliver our programme using Problem Based Learning and actively engaging with companies at home and in this case abroad really helps build the students active ability to critically analyse real world situations One of the benefits of the LIT Masters in Marketing and Management Strategy programme is the option to undertake the programme over a 24 month period

    McGann Manager and Brendan Lynch Trainer This years O Mhaolagain Championship competition was hosted by Marino on Thursday the 27th February With an entry of over 9 teams the competition was sure to be high LIT Camogie entered the competition after a successful League campaign and reaching the Division 3 League Final Due to fixture issues etc this year s Championship was played first In Rd 1 of the O Mhaolagain competition LIT Camogie set out the standard with a successful win over UU Colraine by 5 5 to 0 0 Rd 2 of the competition saw a more competitive test for LIT V GMIT A strong breeze during this match limited both teams to low scoring In the dying seconds of the game Suzy O Shea from a 21 yard free blasted to the back of the net to level the game at 1 2 apiece LIT went straight through to the semi final versus UU Magee A great defensive effort by UU Magee kept LIT Camogie adrift until the second half LIT then showed their fantastic scoring ability with 2 fantastic goals by Ashling Thompson 1 goal each for Christy Carroll and Aine Ryan respectively The final score finished 4 3 to 0 1 The final was set up for an enthralling battle as GMIT had done well on their side and we again pitted against LIT who earlier in the year during the League campaign offered a hefty defeat to the College The final was played at such a high intensity that no score was registered in the first half Fantastic defensive efforts by both sides were on display GMIT came out the stronger in the second half and mid way through registered a point from way out the field Anita Forde blasted the ball from corner back position to the 21 meter line Thirty seconds left in the game LIT were awarded a free which Christy Carroll converted A mistake by the GMIT goalie during the puck out offered Christy Carroll the opportunity to win the game for LIT but controversially was waved wide by the referee GMIT gathered momentum from this After a great burst down the wing GMIT threw over what was to be the last puck of the game to win the O Mhaolagain Cup by 0 2 to 0 1 On the upside of the competition a fantastic performance by Sarah Carey in all matches gained her the accolade of Player of the Tournament The bus home from Marino was so disheartening commented Ann Marie You could see it by the management players and all supporters that LIT had missed the chance tocapture a final victory in several years It was all or nothing for the League final We travelled to NUIG Dangan Sports Grounds on 1st April to play Sligo IT in the CCAO Division 3 League final Sligo IT came out of the blocks like lightening 15mins into the first half LIT had failed to register a score with Sligo
