    Ireland Homecoming Study Programme IHSP is open to the children grandchildren and great grandchildren of Irish emigrants who are interested in completing a semester of study two semesters or an entire undergraduate degree at one of Irelands Institutes of Technology The IHSP will be of particular interest to the Irish Diaspora located outside of the European Union who would normally be subject to full Non Eu tuition fees IHSP Tuition Fee 7 500 Students should budget a minimum of 7 500 to cover their cost of living for two semesters The disciplines of study available include Accounting Finance Law Business Humanities Music Design Information Technology Science and Engineering Each participating Institute may set a limit to the number of students who may qualify for the programme For a full list of programmes please use the Course Search facility on the home page How do students qualify for the programme IHSP Requirements Applicants must be a minimum age of 17 years on January 1st on the year of application i e the intake year 1 Students must demonstrate that they have completed a High School Diploma equivalent to the Irish Leaving Certificate 2 Applicants who hold Irish passports will automatically qualify 3 Applicants who do not hold an Irish passport need to demonstrate one of the following a Their parent s or grandparent s had a registered Irish birth b Their parents s or grandparent s were Irish citizens and or held an Irish passport or dual citizenship c If neither of your parents was born in Ireland but you can claim Irish Citizenship by descent you can use a Certificate of Entry in the Foreign Births Register issued by the Department of Foreign Affairs and the long form of your civil birth certificate in support of your application d Holders

    BRAZIL AT THE INSTITUTES OF TECHNOLOGY LATEST NEWS A new undergraduate call was announced on 15th August 2014 for commencment of studies in September 2015 See here for details For details of the Ireland call please click here Once again a central application system will be operated for Ireland at www csfirlanda ie Science without Borders is a large scale scholarship program primarily funded by the Brazilian federal government The program seeks to strengthen and expand the initiatives of science and technology innovation and competitiveness through international mobility of undergraduate and graduate students and researchers The program is a joint effort of the Ministry of Education MEC and the Ministry of Science and Technology MCT through their respective funding agencies CAPES and CNPq The Institutes of Technology will provide opportunities at both undergraduate and postgraduate level under the scheme Undergraduate students from Brazil can come to Ireland for up to one year of study at Institutes of Technology Students in the program will return to Brazil to complete their degrees For further information on undergraduate opportunities please click here Opportunities are also available at both PhD and Masters by Research level and all are linked to our specialist research centres

    Thursday 5th November 2015 Irish Survey of Student Engagement 2015 Results Irish Survey of Student Engagement 2015 Results More than 27 000 students provide feedback on their higher education experience in national survey Publication of 2015 results from the Irish Survey of Student Engagement ISSE The results of a national survey of third level students published today Thursday 5th November 2015 will help Irish higher education institutions to enhance the quality of education they provide This year more than 27 300 students from 30 higher education institutions responded to the survey taking the total number of responses to almost 60 000 in the three years since the survey was first run as a pilot Details of their experiences will be used by institutions to identify which aspects are working well for students and which areas would benefit from further improvement In addition the survey informs national policy as a key source of information It is the first system wide survey of its kind in Europe and one of only a handful of similar surveys worldwide The Irish Survey of Student Engagement ISSE is designed to ask students directly about their full experience of higher education Student feedback provides institutions with
