    retirement planning to the Curran Tribunal Gerry has a particular interest in Traveller Education and represented the INTO on the Taskforce for Traveller Education in the north He is a member of the Keady Regeneration Committee a sub committee of Armagh City Council Nuala O Donnell Senior Official Nuala taught in Holy Family PS Belfast before taking up post as an Official in INTO Northern Office in 1995 with responsibility for Education Policy development and Professional Issues In 2000 she was promoted to Senior Official with additional management responsibilities for Recruitment Membership and Training In 2005 Nuala completed a Masters Degree in Educational Management and took a career break to work as an Education Adviser with the Post Primary Review of Catholic Education On return from career break in January 2011 she resumed her role and responsibilities as Senior Official with the additional responsibility of School Leadership Tony Carlin Senior Official Tony graduated from Queens University with an Honours Degree in Biochemistry He also holds a formal postgraduate qualification in Computer Science and is a Graduate Member of the Institute of Personnel and Development Prior to joining INTO Tony was Staff Side Secretary for the Royal Group of Hospitals where he managed collective bargaining arrangements for 18 trade unions and 6 500 employees He was also the AMICUS Trade Union Official in the Health Service dealing with a broad and comprehensive range of industrial matters Within INTO Tony is responsible for management of queries and casework in the Northern Office including the processing of industrial tribunal claims and settlements He is also responsible for advising the INTO on Equality matters changes to employment law and industrial relations procedure and practice Tony is also responsible for the training of INTO Health and Safety representatives Tommy McGlone Trade Union Official Tommy began

    This Sub Committee is appointed annually by the CEC and it comprises the General Secretary President Vice President and four members of the CEC Minor claims regrading and appointment of secretarial staff are the administrative responsibility of the General Secretary Major secretarial staff claims are determined by the CEC on the advice and recommendation of the General Secretary When necessary the processing of claims by officials and staff may require the involvement of the Labour Relations Commission for adjudication or conciliation On these occasions the interests of the Organisation are represented by the General Secretary General Treasurer President and members of the Staff Salaries Sub Committee as appropriate The appointed officials and staff are represented by officials of their trade union The salary of Organisation staff is determined by reference to Civil Service scales as follows Northern Office Northern Secretary Civil Service Assistant Secretary Grade NI Senior Official Civil Service and Related Grades NI Trade Union Official Civil Service and Related Grades NI The point on the incremental scale to which officials are appointed is determined by examining previous relevant experience In general officials are given one incremental point for every 3 or 4 years teaching service Other relevant experience

    taken place Arrangements regarding staffing and where applicable free transport must be recorded in writing The following arrangements will apply The principal of the amalgamated school will be appointed from among the principals of the schools being amalgamated Privileged assistants will retain for the remainder of their teaching career the level of a principal s allowance appropriate to their former school unless they are appointed to a post of responsibility carrying a higher allowance Where a teacher has given continuous unbroken permanent service in one or more of the schools being amalgamated the aggregate of that service will be reckoned in determining seniority Amalgamation of Lay and Religious Schools Where a lay school amalgamates into a religious school the new school remains classified as a religious school and appointments are made according to paragraph 23 d Constitution of Boards and Rules of Procedure Where a religious school amalgamates into a central or lay school the religious community involved has the right when a vacancy arises within six years of the date of the amalgamation to nominate a member of the community to that vacancy so that the number of religious involved at the time of the amalgamation may be maintained Nothing in paragraphs a or b shall preclude members of a Religious Congregation from being applicants for appointment to a vacancy in the school under the terms of Rule 23 a and b Amalgamated schools will be allowed to replace teachers who leave within one year of an amalgamation subject to the average enrolment at the time being sufficient to maintain the post on the concession retention figures Where a teaching post is suppressed in an amalgamated school the teacher most junior in the order of seniority whether lay or religious as established in paragraph c above will on becoming
