    traverses some of the wildest terrain in Wicklow so participants should agree safety precautions with their team members and carefully recce their leg s Solo runners should ensure they bring adequate clothing and food for all weathers as leg 2 in particular can be very difficult in mist Participants must touch the water in each lake on their leg A team comprises between 1 and 4 persons Juniors are not allowed to compete because of the nature of the terrain and the distances involved A mobile phone hat cagoule map and compass are compulsory kit Bring food and water according to your needs for a run of around 10 km in tough mountain terrain Solo runners must bring sufficient food and clothing protection for the whole race The race will use chasing starts with the first team to finish being the winners Women get a bonus of 10 minutes for each leg they run Persons aged over 50 get a bonus of 5 minutes Persons aged over 60 get a bonus of 15 minutes Persons aged over 70 get a bonus of 30 minutes Hence any teams of four W60 women will start at 8 am whereas teams of four Senior M40 men will start at 9 40 An M50 solo runner would have a bonus of 20 minutes so would start at 9 20 a m Any teams with a bonus of more than 100 minutes will start before 8 a m Teams who declare themselves non competitive can start at 8 30 these teams will be ranked on their bonus adjusted time but are not eligible for a team prize Leg 1 starts at the hotel in Glendalough and takes in Lough Ouler with the handover at the car park beside the road at the Wicklow Gap The

    is a great fun event for all levels and ages Everybody is welcome and encouraged to come along All proceeds from the race go to Goal If you are new to hillrunning it will be a great way to get to know some people and give hill running a go Registration is at the Main Killiney Dalkey Hill Car Park There is parking available Car park entrance on city side of Fitzpatrick s Hotel but please try to car pool or use public transport Dalkey Dart is probably about 15 mins walk to minimise impact on other users of the park Race will start at 7 30 so we will close registration at 7 15 as teams will need to be picked beforehand Teams of three people will be selected randomly which generally adds to the sociability and enjoyment of the occasion Route takes in two climbs and some super scenic spots Both annual registration fee 10 Euro and race entry fee will be donated to Goal Minimum race entry is the normal 7 Euro but more can be given to support this good cause After race prize giving will be held at Fitzpatrick s Castle Hotel which is just

    Terrain 200M 500M ascent 6Km 10Km Race Marking Route fully marked Leagues Leinster League Route Description Start above 2nd barrier on hill climb at southern end of seafront Follow Way markers towards Cross Halfway up through trees the path forks take the right fork to follow the Way marked path and approach cross from west Climb through rocks to touch cross Continue to southern summit and do a short loop before returning by the same route to cross Do not go to cross on return instead take a right turn around 20m beyond where you came out from cross on way up and then an almost immediate left turn see small deviation on route map Descend through trees by almost exactly the same route as ascent see small deviation on route map and finish at cul de sac sign before the promenade Organisers Instructions Notice regarding registration Please note there will be a strict cut off time of 7pm if you are not in the queue by 7pm you will not be allowed to register Notice regarding early starts No early starts allowed for this race Prizegiving Location The Martello Bar Bray Volunteering Current Volunteers Role Volunteers Accepted Run Race
