    look at emerging trends and to take account of our knowledge and expertise so that we are best placed to deliver benefit going forward This means stepping back and adjusting our professional development it means learning and understanding new techniques and it may mean collaborating with others who can add value to our practice This is a great time to review our business models adjust our knowledge and expertise and plan to be on top of our game to ensure we deliver continuous added value to our clients Members of the IMCA whether Accredited or Registered Consulting Practices independent consultants or Graduate members are part of an Institute which is the voice of the management consultancy and advisory professions in Ireland IMCA represents the best global consultancy practices operating here indigenous practices that have grown to be global players small to medium practices with sectoral skills and expertise and Graduate members embarking on their consultancy careers The Certified Management Consultant CMC global brand of consulting excellence which we represent in Ireland sets us apart and assures our clients that our members meet the strict criteria required of CMCs not just in Ireland but globally IMCA is planning some interesting events during the coming year to support the need to remain top of our game in professional development terms Conference We will host a national conference incorporating the IMCA Medal Award in September at a prestigious Dublin location This promises to be a great event and an opportunity to meet and mingle while hearing excellent speakers Places will be limited and allocated on a first come first served basis To help in our planning we would like members to indicate in advance their interest in attending the conference HERE Do you want to contribute A small number of exhibition spaces and

    knowledge expertise and support in Ireland and further afield effort which transcribes to real advantage in the marketplace for our clients As we now enter a phase of moderate growth nationally our members will continue to play a key role contributing leadership strategic direction and practical support At the same time your Institute will continue to act as the voice of our professions in Ireland and to promote the benefits of using IMCA consultants and advisers who adhere to a Code of Ethics Standards and Professionalism recognised globally Your Institute has grown and our current almost 1 000 members have skills and expertise across all sectors as independent consultants and within our 67 Registered and 12 Accredited Consulting Practices representing some of the largest global consultancy practices Recognising this expertise the recently launched Consultants Network and Consulting Guide initiatives outlined below are targeted towards smaller practices and sole practitioners Collaboration is the way to build scale and create growth opportunities so be sure and get involved in these exciting initiatives and let s see what we can achieve together With over 30 CPD events planned for 2014 and following our highly successful 2013 conference at Aviva Stadium we are again working on an exciting focal point for our professions later in the year So no excuses our events programme provides plenty of opportunities to network and grow your knowledge base As you know the IMCA awards a medal in recognition of outstanding achievement with lasting impact in a particular sector each year The award is now in place for 23 years and has been made on an all island basis since 2007 This year we would like to hear your nominations for this prestigious award so please respond to f with your suggestions and a brief statement as to why

    we have seen high profile people undergoing legal processes as part of the fall out of financial scandals The fact that four years after the spate of financial and property scandals we are at last beginning to see a shift in attitudes to transparency and disclosure may be of little comfort to those who saw their bank shares collapse in value or younger families stuck in debt ridden sub standard houses and apartments In the coming months the Protected Disclosures in the Public Interest Act 2012 will provide channels for employees suppliers and business advisers to raise concerns in relation to fraud harassment or breach of regulations We have been slow to take these steps which were implemented in Britain and New Zealand over a decade earlier and in the US in the 19th Century The government also plans to restore the Freedom of Information Act provisions for wider disclosure But rafts of new legislation cannot create an internal climate of openness and trust Employees need to be convinced that ethical whistle blowing of corrupt or illegal practices is welcomed and a sign of maturity This can only be cascaded down from the most senior levels of the organisation While the new reporting requirements may seem draconian they came after various tribunals unearthed widespread tax evasion and alleged corruption in business and politics It is thus hardly surprising that citizens demand more robust systems to highlight fraud and corruption in situations where ethical standards break down As members of IMCA it is timely to remind ourselves that our principal objective is to advance the professions of management consultancy and business advice by establishing and maintaining the highest standards of performance and conduct by our members and by promoting the knowledge and skills required for that purpose We take our ethical

    Award ICMCI Contact Us Member Login Forget Password Member Login Enter the email address of your account below to receive your password Message from President While we may be coming into winter there are signs of spring about After two years of political inertia the USA has an opportunity to re address its economic and finance difficulties with the re election of the President Barack Obama While never attracted by the glib Yes we can slogan of four years ago I do think that America may finally begin to address these difficulties Likewise in Ireland our paymasters and bail out backers are finally beginning to realise that our problems cannot be addressed through cuts and austerity alone With one in seven of the workforce unemployed and over 1 600 people opting to emigrate every week we need a greater local stimulus We still have some way to go to mend our side of the problem by ensuring increased competitiveness through reasonable professional service costs greater efficiencies in managing the public services and building a more entrepreneurial society Also we still have the cloud of debt burden as a consequence of incompetence greed and inadequate regulation Of course we should properly apportion blame and highlight the individuals who hold prime responsibility But more importantly we need to build a new agenda of values and respect so that our aim in rebuilding Ireland is not limited to larger housing estates brighter car sales rooms and bigger shopping centres As management consultants and advisers our wide experience in designing and implementing enterprise organisational and workplace solutions puts IMCA members in a prime position of responsibility and capability to help redirect our country back towards a new focus on high standards and stable success to benefit all our citizens and attract back a large

    to receive your password Business Advisor Training Programme A new European e learning Training Programme for Business Advisors www business advisor eu was launched in Ireland by Dun Laoghaire Rathdown CEB and the President of Dundalk Institute of Technology DKIT Denis Cummins on May 19th VETBA Vocational Education for Trainers and Business Advisors funded by the EU Commission is a partnership between six EU countries and will provide Business Advisors with an online course which will consolidate and increase the skills needed to advise businesses on how to start up grow and prosper in the current economic climate The project led by Dun Laoghaire Rathdown CEB is a partnership of European business organisations academic institutions and business consultants Dun Laoghaire Rathdown CEB is the lead partner and will manage and coordinate all the work packages over the two year project Michael Johnson CEO of Dun Laoghaire Rathdown CEB stated that he was delighted to represent the network of County Enterprise Boards in Ireland on the VETBA project The objectives of the VETBA project are to Identify across Europe the training needs of businesses advisers both public and private sector Adapt existing training materials and complement with new materials to create
