    Useful Links Consultants Network Consultants Network Practice Presentations Regional Networks About Us About Us Officers Board Working Groups Institute History Our Ethos News Events Annual Medal Award ICMCI Contact Us Member Login Forget Password Member Login Enter the email address of your account below to receive your password Launch of CEN consultancy standard The new CEN European Standard on Management Consultancy Services EN 16114 is being launched in Brussels on 9 November 2011 The development of this standard arose from the EU s Services Directive which seeks to make a common market in services in the same way as it has in manufactured goods A key instrument in this has been the adoption of service standards which describe the interface between the consumer and provider of a service It is anticipated that the standard will become a global ISO standard within a year As it was inevitable that a service standard was to be prepared for management consultancy ICMCI choose to be proactive and take an active part in the writing of the standard An IMCA Working Group provided feedback through NSAI to the development of the standard Back to News About Us About Us Officers Board Working Groups Institute

  • Success in CMC procedures assessment
    of IMCA s membership procedures by ICMCI last September states that we are fully compliant with the ICMCI CMC standards and that IMCA is in a number of respects a leader in professional best practice within ICMCI In our third assessment since 2004 we are seen to have steadily learnt and improved our CMC standards processes and ACP scheme over the period Our CMC documentation is succinct clear and comprehensive and our website is well structured with scope for improved on line interaction with members CMC candidates and referees We will again amend our procedures in a few areas to bring them in line with ICMCI best practice Our membership size is seen to represent considerable success in comparison with other ICMCI members probably as high a penetration as any ICMCI member institute where membership is not a statutory requirement Our ACP scheme is also seen to be one of the most successful in ICMCI IMCA is thus authorised to continue managing the CMC accreditation and annual review process in Ireland This external recognition of the robustness of our CMC procedures provides an excellent basis to promote the accreditation s value as is in hand with public procurement bodies following

    Our Ethos News Events Annual Medal Award ICMCI Contact Us Member Login Forget Password Member Login Enter the email address of your account below to receive your password Radical changes in public sector consultancy procurement The new OGP Framework Agreements proposing radical changes in the procurement of public sector consultancy were set out at a seminar in Dublin on March 25th Procurement of services including management consultancy will be centralised across the public sector with significant savings targeted by OGP Office of Government Procurement from the consolidation of work packages Most consultancy projects will be procured under new Framework Agreements and only approved practices will be able to participate in work procured under them for a period of four years The timeline envisages tender invites being issued for the Framework Agreements in two tranches for the Health Sector in Q2 2015 and for all other government bodies in Q3 2015 The Agreements will operate for a period of four years OGP seek responses on their proposals by 8 th April A copy of the seminar presentation is available here and of the Seminar Response Document here IMCA will be making a response on behalf of the profession and individual practices

    address of your account below to receive your password Client Survey IMCA supported a Client Survey by Smurfit Business School M Sc in Management Consultancy students under the direction of Kathy O Reilly who is Programme Leader and also one of 25 Academic Fellows appointed by the international body ICMCI The IMCA Board initiated the survey as a means of starting to gain objective feedback on the profession from its clients The survey is a pilot for one to be repeated more formally in future years A total of 36 firms was surveyed across a range of sectors and firm sizes mainly by online questionnaire with some follow up interviews The survey was supported by desk research The response was reasonably positive 81 of respondents saw the value created from consultancy as greater than or equal to fee costs and 78 were satisfied or very satisfied with the work carried out Sector networks and other client referrals were seen as the most important sources of consultancy Areas for improvement included more innovation client focus tailored solutions and specialisation clearer lines of communication and less emphasis on business fads We would like thank the students who completed the survey Aoife O
