    a Registrar Edit a Nichandle FAQs Blog What we do The IEDR is the registry for ie Internet domain names and maintains the database of ie registered domain names Find an Accredited Registrar They have the skills to help you register your ie domain We have been managing the ie country code Top Level Domain ccTLD namespace since 1991 Our work includes protecting supporting and promoting the online presence of all ie domain names The IEDR originated in University College Dublin however in July 2000 it became a private company The IEDR has no shareholders the company is owned by its members who are the directors This structure being limited by guarantee is a very common one for domain registries around the world Surpluses are not distributed they are added to opening reserves Directors as per the company s constitution do not have a beneficial interest in the reserves of the company Only the IEDR can administer and manage the ie namespace These acts are undertaken as a public service The IEDR liaises as required with government departments governing bodies trade associations and abides by Internet best practice principles while still operating as an independent private company Mission The IEDR s mission is to provide unique identifiably Irish domain names along with registry and related services to the local and international Internet community Vision Our vision is that the ie domain name will continue to be recognised globally as representing Ireland s presence on the Internet with high levels of stability safety and resilience Values We strive to be fair equitable and transparent in our dealings with Registrars and stakeholders We operate with integrity and ethical values while also adhering to the strict corporate governance guidelines In our efforts to serve the local Internet community we always work with enthusiasm

    applications received will be evaluated and responded to within 48 72 hours of receipt during the working week Please note that only registered trademark holders will be eligible to apply during this period Click here for detailed information about trademark eligibility Instances where multiple eligible applications are received for a single domain name will be resolved by use of an auction scenario All eligible auction participants will be contacted by the IEDR staff at the end of the Sunrise process to advise on the auction procedures Where only one eligible application is received for a one or two letter ie domain registration will granted to the sole eligible applicant at the end of the Sunrise process The auction process is scheduled to begin in January 2015 It should be noted that applications fees are non refundable and auctions for contested applications will be scheduled for late January 2016 If you are a Direct Registrant or have any further queries on the Sunrise launch please email our Registrations Department at 1 2letter iedr ie Landrush As our Sunrise phase has since ended the IEDR is not currently accepting applications for one and two letter ie domains until the launch of our Landrush phase on February 21 st 2016 This phase will run until March 22 nd 2016 and applications for the remaining one and two letter ie domains will be permitted from any applicant who meets the standard Registration Criteria of the IE Domain Registry Please note that premium pricing will apply due to expected high levels of demand Please contact one of the participating Registrars at the top of the page for more information on pricing or to register your interest During Landrush cases where multiple eligible applicants apply for the same domain name will go to auction to determine which applicant will gain the right to use the domain Only applicants who have been proven to satisfy the IEDR s Registration Criteria will be granted access to the auction platform with information on this being communicated to the eligible applicants Registrars after Landrush ends Please note that the following domains will be restricted from registration during Landrush as they are either already registered or restricted by the IEDR 3 ie aa ie bp ie bt ie cl ie cp ie ea ie ef ie ey ie f ie fb ie hm ie hp ie ig ie jd ie m ie pp ie qb ie r ie rb ie t ie te ie wu ie zf ie ie ie ei ie ir ie us ie uk ie ni ie co ie eu ie ec ie ip ie ns ie me ie rr ie and ds ie General Availability One and two letter ie domain names that are not registered in either the Sunrise or Landrush phases will then be available to the general public for registration on a first come first served basis in accordance with the standard registration requirements Exceptions Please note that a number of domains will be
