    continuing on to job placements with a view to gaining experience and ultimately paid employment More than 400 Job Shadow matches took place on the day across the lenght and breath of the country from Cork to Donegal and Dublin to Galway Some of Ireland s best known professionals got involved once again this year including An Taoiseach Enda Kenny hurling legend Brian Cody celebrity chef Neven Maguire broadcasters Derek Mooney and Ray D Arcy and journalist and television presenter Brendan O Connor It is hoped this will also help towards boosting the profile of Job Shadow Day and promoting the concept of supported employment at a national level Teresa Mallon IASE chairperson said the initiative continues to grow each year with more Job Shadow placements more job offers and a higher profile nationally of the event than ever before This year saw close to a 20 per cent increase in the number of employers taking part in Job Shadow Day compared to last year which is a hugely postivie development Dublin City Council took part in Job Shadow Day for the first time in 2013 We put the emphasis on raising awareness with employers That is our key objective This is a perfect opportunity for employers to sample for one day how they can get involved in supported employment and the ways in which they can work towards a more inclusive workplace Good relationship One of the very positive outcomes form Job Shadow Day is that even if employers are not able to offer a good employment position they have built up a good relationship with the disability organisation who are coordinating the placement Anne Marie Condron from Tallaght took part in this year s Job Shadow Day at The Square Shopping Centre Tallaght Anne Marie who is supported
