  • UFC ON FOX 18: Johnson Vs Bader - Fightstore Media
an advantage over the man they call Rumble In Anthony Johnson you have a fighter who has natural knockout power in both his hands and feet Since moving up to the Light Heavyweight division he has captured stunning knockout victories over Antonio Rogerio Nogueira Jimi Manuwa and most impressively two time title challenger Alexander Gustafsson Despite these fantastic finishes it is his decision victory over Phil Davis which should be most alarming for Ryan Bader Phil Davis and Ryan Bader both possess very similar fighting styles with wrestling as their main base Johnson proved he was more than capable to shrug off any of Davis s takedown attempts in their three round fight at UFC 172 However this is not a three round fight For Bader his best route to victory is to grind down Anthony Johnson and keep a good pace as Johnson has been known to fade in the later rounds For Johnson his best path to victory is to use his technical Dutch Style Kickboxing to find a home for either his kicks or punches and end the fight in the early rounds Anthony Johnson is a favourite in the betting line for this one because outside of Cormier he has looked truly magnificent but if this fight reaches round four and five look for Bader to take over Follow Johnson Bader and the UFC on Twitter Anthony Rumble ryanbader ufc Leave a comment below and tell us who you think will win this fight Share on Facebook Share Loading Share on Twitter Tweet Loading Share on Google Plus Share Loading Share on Reddit Share Loading Share on Pinterest Share Loading Share on Linkedin Share Loading Share on Digg Share Share on Delicious Share Loading Share on Stumbleupon Share Loading Share on Tumblr Share Share on Vkontakte

  • John Wayne Parr: “Once MMA Fans see Caged Muay Thai they are converted!” - Fightstore Media
exciting for the crowd But I am a pressure fighter and won t be giving him much room to move I plan to make it exciting and fast paced I m desperate for the win to make up for my loss in America he added The fight card for December 5th is full of international fighters We have the three Irish lads three New Zealand fighters and Cyrus from USA so this is by far our biggest international card he said JWP is also proud of having a super strong undercard with many local and interstate fighters This will be the largest event in the promotions history and should attract a large audience from around the world In the future Parr can see CMT competing with MMA promotions on a larger scale I have had so many people that are huge MMA fans but once they have seen CMT they are converted because in CMT the action is non stop You can also see what s happening the whole time because it s not just two blokes hugging on the ground At this stage it s still in its early days with this only being my 7th show But hopefully some influential people see what we are trying to do and help take our business to the next level he said We asked Parr to give us his opinion on Irish Muay Thai He said that he was impressed by the standard of fighters Muay Thai is growing so fast all around the world so it s great to see the standard grow in each country I hope the Irish lads can impress while here in Oz Paddy Douglas Mark Casserly and Sean Clancy will represent Ireland at Caged Muay Thai 7 CMT is not for the faint hearted and JWP offered some advice to any fighters interested in stepping into the cage Learn good footwork because you don t want to be caught in the pocket Also keep your hands up as much as possible Getting hit in the face with those little gloves is no joke he said CMT offers Muay Thai fighter a new pinnacle in their sport it allows them to show off their skills on a big stage and make a name for themselves in the sport Wayne Parr came from humble beginnings to become one of the best fighters in the world He shared the best advice that he received during his career with us He was told not to party away all his prize money drinking You don t need the fast cars and the latest toys Save as much money as you can because being a fighter there is no retirement fund Invest in bricks and mortar because there will be a day you won t be able to fight anymore I have been smart and saved Now I own my own house and recently bought the building my gym is in I m paying the same as if I was renting

  • Kieran O’Brien: “I’ve always said that the UFC was within my reach since day one” - Fightstore Media
as possible If I can t get in there I ll use my tools and experiences as much as I can to help them and work from their corner Kieran said that he didn t want to give himself a certain date or time to make his return He admitted that he done that last year and it never happened I m going to wait until my body feels good and then I ll know that I m only 3 or 4 weeks away from a fight Even though I ve been out for two years I haven t stopped training at all I m still in the gym six or seven days a week working on my rehab and any skills I can train In his previous fights Kieran built up a reputation for knocking people out and he thanks Muay Thai for allowing him to be so successful in stand up He said I think Muay Thai is the most effective stand up martial art If you were going to start learning a stand up art I d advise you to begin with it It allows you to utilise all your weapons whereas other martial arts wouldn t use your knee or the elbow When it comes to MMA and you have to use all of those then your Thai boxing background will always stand to you I m a big fan of Bruce Lee and I love his movement so I tried to bring Kung Fu and Tae Kwon Do kicks into my game as well I ve always known that there was place for those kind of kicks in my game In the time that he s been away from MMA a lot has changed Irish MMA gained a lot of respect around the world with a number of fighters making their way into the UFC But Kieran has also witnessed the rise of a number of young fighters from Munster The gap between clubs from Dublin and Munster has grown a lot closer and now he believes that they can look at a possible breakthrough into the UFC I always felt like we were a couple of years behind the likes of SBG because they had the bodies the numbers and the knowledge My father has been coaching martial arts all his life and along with him and our other coaches we ve begun to pull it together over the last few years Through all our training camps competitions and fights that we ve had since we ve finally started to catch up with the teams from Dublin We re starting to put our name on the map There s a few fighters from Dublin and the North which have managed to make it into the UFC and I hope that this year we can get someone from the South to make the breakthrough Batman always had his own dreams of signing for the UFC The injuries have not changed his outlook and he s

  • UFC 196 now UFC Fight Night: Hendricks Vs Thompson - Fightstore Media
main event was not PPV worthy Regardless of the main events popularity status it is an intriguing matchup between two fighters with contrasting styles Hendricks is no stranger to the main event status The former UFC Welterwight champion has shared the spotlight with some of the sport s biggest names in Georges St Pierre and Robbie Lawler Despite being used to the presence of the big bright lights Hendricks has perhaps never been under as much pressure to perform in his career At UFC 192 in October of last year Hendricks was forced to pull out of his fight last minute due to weight cutting issues leaving a furious on weight Tyron Woodley without an opponent Hendricks received quite the backlash from both fighters and fans alike for his unprofessional behaviour Scrutiny aside Hendricks is still one of the toughest outs for any fighter in the Welterweight division With ferocious knockout power and a highly decorated amateur wrestling background Hendricks is sure to be Thompson s toughest test to date Hendricks has many ways to win this fight however using his superior wrestling to control Wonderboy Thompson on the ground might be his safest bet Look to Hendricks s last fight as an example where he was able to decisively defeat Matt Brown and nullify his dangerous Muay Thai with his decorated wrestling pedigree In Wonderboy Thompson you have one of the most talented and creative traditional Martial Artists in MMA today He entered MMA as an undefeated kick boxer who has studied Kempo Karate since he was a young child Riding a five fight winning streak that includes three knockouts it is safe to say that Thompson is truly finding his feet in the UFC With help from former UFC Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman Wonderboy has progressed significantly in his takedown defence which aids him in using his elite level striking techniques This improvement was most evident in Thompsons s last contest where he was able to stuff the takedown attempts from a talented wrestler in Jake Ellenberger before dispatching him on the feet with a spinning hook kick in the first round Wonderboy will be looking to replicate that game plan in his clash with Hendricks It is stylistic matchups like this that make MMA such an interesting sport where it is particularly hard to predict the outcome With that being said leave a comment below and tell us who you think will win this epic showdown Image Source http ufc tv Share on Facebook Share Loading Share on Twitter Tweet Loading Share on Google Plus Share Loading Share on Reddit Share Loading Share on Pinterest Share Loading Share on Linkedin Share Loading Share on Digg Share Share on Delicious Share Loading Share on Stumbleupon Share Loading Share on Tumblr Share Share on Vkontakte Share Loading Share on Xing Share Share on Weibo Share Share on Buffer Share Loading Send email Mail Darragh Fitzpatrick http fightstoredublin ie Post navigation Previous article Sinead Kavanagh moves up to Featherweight for

  • 'Clash of the Clans' Press Conference: Best bits in quotes - Fightstore Media
Thanks Francis Warren for agreeing with me Francis laughs and MGM for putting us on the show The champions won t fight him Ormond He is going to do a Spike Gary O Sullivan and start calling these guys out and hopefully then the promoters will take the risk He just wants a world title fight and when he does get the opportunity he will beat whoever is the champion The big money fight would be Anthony Crolla vs Terry Flanagan Stephen Ormond understands it s a business and all about money He is going to do it the hard way just by beating the guys in front of him and keep knocking on the door When he gets the opportunity I wouldn t want to be in there with him he will take it with both hands What I like about Terry Flanagan is that he will fight anybody Implying that it s Flanagan s team who are preventing the rematch and not the fighter Francis Warren replied quickly by diplomatically saying that Flanagan was concentrating on Derry Mathews for now They fight on February 13 in Liverpool for the WBO lightweight world title Jamie Kavanagh This is my second time fighting at home and I m grateful to BoxNation and MGM for the opportunity It s a great start to 2016 for me and I will be taking that belt with me I m happy with the opponent he s a lot cleaner than the last one Winning this belt opens up so many avenues Declan Geraghty It s a great opportunity for me to take my record to 11 and 1 It s a great bill It s time to bring big time boxing back to Dublin Hopefully a couple of us get an opportunity to fight for big titles and bring the Bernard Dunne days back to Dublin It s been tough training six weeks in Manchester I m happy with the camp and I m looking to showing what I ve learned on the night I like to get in a war but Daniel will slap me on the head and make sure I keep boxing This is my hometown and there s no better place for me to box It s a big ring which suits my style By the end of the year hopefully it s me headlining the National Stadium Share on Facebook Share Loading Share on Twitter Tweet Loading Share on Google Plus Share Loading Share on Reddit Share Loading Share on Pinterest Share Loading Share on Linkedin Share Loading Share on Digg Share Share on Delicious Share Loading Share on Stumbleupon Share Loading Share on Tumblr Share Share on Vkontakte Share Loading Share on Xing Share Share on Weibo Share Share on Buffer Share Loading Send email Mail Liam McInerney My obsession with the sweet science started after reading a Sugar Ray Robinson biography While being a student journalist in Dublin I became the boxing writer for Fightstore Media http
