and in Blanchardstown each year and it s one of Ireland s premier parades The aim of event is to highlight community and local action across Fingal and to provide a way for families to come out and enjoy this great event We are looking for happy enthusiastic reliable and motivated volunteers to be Ambassadors for this event Volunteer roles cover all aspects of the event Full on site orientation support and recognition will be provided Roles open to those aged 16 and over Volunteer Programme managed by Event Volunteers Roles for this event include Parade Set up Registering participants Providing information to the general public Assistance at take down after the parade Directions and information giving Transport The 33 and 41 buses serve Swords Village Buses will most likely terminate away from the Main Street so check dublinbus ie for your local route The 38 and 39 buses service Blancardstown Flavours of Fingal County Show Saturday 28 Sunday 29 June 2014 We re delighted to announce that Flavours of Fingal County Show is back for 2014 with a new format for visitors Come along to Flavours of Fingal in Newbridge House Farm Enjoy the fantastic food Learn all about the farm Great fun for the family We are looking for enthusiastic reliable and motivated volunteers to be Ambassadors for this event Volunteer roles cover all aspects of the event Full orientation support of the shuttle bus service nearer the event Event Location Transportation Options Giro d Italia Big Start 2014 Fingal Wide Sunday 11 May 2014 The Giro D Italia is one of the largest classic road cycle races The race is one of the highlights of the cycling season and is one of the toughest cycle races in the world The year the race has its big start in Belfast Northern Ireland before making its way through Armagh before running down the scenic East Coast through Balbriggan Skerries and Malahide before heading to the finish line outside Government Buildings This is a once in a lifetime experience to see top class cyclists make their way through Northern Ireland and Ireland In association with the Events Unit in Fingal County Council we are delighted to have Event Volunteers engaged in this event We are looking for enthusiastic reliable safety conscious volunteers to be Ambassadors and for this event as it makes it way through County Fingal and our efforts will be focused in a number of Ború c 941 1014 High King of Ireland 1002 1014 who was born raised and ruled in the area that is now known as Killaloe County Clare On Friday 25 April Fingal County Council will host a fire torch and     and tidy at all times Dress warmly Copyright All written material whether held on paper electronically or magnetically which was made or acquired by you during the course of your involvement with us is our property and our copyright Copyright c 2012 2014 Fingal Volunteer Centre Limited Events Volunteers All Rights Reserved Confidentiality All information that is or has been obtained by you during or in the course of your involvement or has otherwise been acquired by you in confidence that relates particularly to the event s business or that of others with whom we have dealings of any sort that we have not made public is confidential and a volunteer shall not at any time before or after the end of their involvement disclose such information to any person without our written consent Volunteers are expected to exercise care to keep safe any documents or other material containing confidential information and at the end of your involvement with us or at any other time upon demand return any such material in your possession Representation of an Event or Event Volunteers Volunteers will not represent the event in any circumstance unless otherwise agreed This includes but is not limited to statements to the media joint initiatives with other organisations and agreements involving contractual or financial obligations Relationships with Paid Staff Volunteers are a core part of our team and enhance the capacity of and community involvement in the event with a distinctive but complementary role alongside paid staff Clear roles are established to differentiate between paid staff and volunteers to foster mutually beneficial relationships Section 4 Management of Volunteers We are committed to managing volunteers in a manner that meets the needs of both the event and the Volunteer The Volunteer Manager Fingal Volunteer Centre is responsible for the management of volunteers including answering questions regarding policies dealing with any complaints and grievances involving volunteers delivering induction and arranging training Support and Supervision The Volunteer Manager will advise the volunteer of their designated supervisor whose role it is to provide day to day advice and guidance relating to the voluntary work provide support and supervision and identify training needs for consideration by the Volunteer Manager All volunteers are allocated a designated supervisor when volunteering with the event It is the role of the designated supervisor to provide advice and guidance relating to the voluntary work provide support and supervision for the duration of the event The purpose and benefits of supervision are to Clarify priorities Share information answer questions Discuss any issues the volunteer may have Identify and meet support needs Recognise and deal with existing and potential problems Monitor and evaluate performance Personal Information and Confidentiality All information is dealt with in accordance with Data Protection Policy and Data Protection Acts A folder and database is maintained on all volunteers to include their initial application role description along with any relevant information on scheduling and notes Volunteers are able to access their personal information freely upon request Responsibility for

  • Event Volunteers - Volunteer Training
    organisations we work with There are a variety of trainings that we provide to our volunteers Volunteer Hub Roadshow The roadshow takes place as various large scale public events during the year and aims to engage new potential Event Volunteers Volunteer Information Sessions These sessions usually run twice a year are the next step along our training ladder and offer potential volunteers the opportunity to find out more about what we do meet current Event Volunteers and sign up on the spot Volunteer Orientation Sessions Depending on the scale of the event and the number of Event Volunteers required for the event this make take place 2 to 5 days before the event usually in Fingal County Council Offices For smaller events this orientation takes place on site at the event It is a requirement that All Event Volunteers attend these sessions All Event Volunteers are given a full briefing on the morning of each event and provided with an information pack to take away with them Team Leader Training Each January we identify potential Team Leaders to lead our events in the following year This training is to either City Guilds or FETAC Level 5 This training is run in partnership with a number of our partners including Fingal County Council Dublin Civil Defence Health Safety Essentials amongst others These trainings are usually run over two and volunteers invited to attend must attend both days and then undergo a practical assignment Volunteer Management Training For our Team Leaders and other interested volunteers we offer a short volunteer management course speciafically delaing with volunteer support and supervision and dealing with difficult and challenging situations All of these courses above are free to attend How do I become a team leader To become a team leader you must have completed a
