    Survey News News Releases New Educate Together National School for Pelletstown Dublin New Application Process for Patronage of Schools in Dublin Cork and Wicklow 5 Feb 2015 2015 Pelletstown Educate Together National School The Department of Education and Skills has appointed Educate Together as patron of a new national school opening in the Royal Canal Park Pelletstown area next September The Department today announced that four new national schools will be opening in September one of which will be an Educate Together school in Pelletstown Commenting on the announcement Educate Together CEO Paul Rowe said For parents in this area of Dublin we are delighted with today s announcement We look forward to working with the local community the local authority and the Department of Education and Skills to make sure this school opens as efficiently as possible This school represents a really positive step in our work to give parents in this part of Dublin a choice of school type for their children s education Admissions information and accommodation arrangements for September 2015 will be announced shortly Pre enrolment information can be found here 2015 2016 Patronage Determination Process Educate Together is also delighted to announce that it intends to apply for patronage of two other new national schools that are due to open in 2015 These schools which will open in Greystones Co Wicklow and Carrigtwohill Co Cork are subject to a patronage application process Furthermore in 2016 Educate Together anticipates that it will apply for the patronage of each of the following schools as a result of the increasing demand for Educate Together school places in these areas Goatstown Stillorgan Cabra Phibsborough Drumcondra Marino All of these new schools should they be designated as Educate Together schools will optimise parental choice and strengthen diversity of provision in

    News Strategy Media Kit News Archive All Events School News Newsletters Publications Resources Annual Reports Accounts Resources Advocacy Our Campaigns EqualAccess EqualRespect Educate Together To Apply for Patronage of Six New Schools for 2017 and 2018 Research Annual Survey News News Releases Educate Together Welcomes Announcement of Pilot Areas for School Divestment Pilot 22 Oct 2012 9 00 Educate Together has welcomed today s announcement by Minister for Education and Skills Ruairí Quinn of the five areas to be included in the first round of surveys of parental primary school preference The areas chosen are Arklow Castlebar Tramore Trim and Whitehall The parental survey is being rolled out as the next step in the Forum for Patronage Pluralism at Primary Level initated by the Minister last year The results of the surveys will facilitate the potential reassignment of a number of primary schools under the patronage of the Catholic Church to other patrons including Educate Together Commenting on the Minister s announcement Educate Together CEO Paul Rowe described the survey as a milestone in providing for diversity in Irish Education Paul Rowe said I welcome the Minister s announcement the parental survey is another big step towards addressing the historical issue of imbalance in diversity of school type in the Irish education system The survey results will play a significant role in progressing the transfer of patronage of a small number of Catholic schools to another patron such as Educate Together where there is parental demand to do so I look forward to the opportunity this will present to families throughout Ireland who will have the opportunity to articulate the choice of schools they wish for their communities for the future It is expected that today s announcement will be good news for Arklow Castlebar Tramore Trim and Whitehall as
