    Patronage of Six New Schools for 2017 and 2018 Research Annual Survey News News Releases New Educate Together Schools Announced for Galway and Dublin 26 Sep 2013 9 00 The Department of Education and Skills has appointed Educate Together as patron to two new national schools opening in 2014 The schools will be located in Knocknacarra Galway and Sandymount Ringsend Dublin 4 These schools are in addition to Carpenterstown Educate Together National School which was sanctioned to open in 2013 but whose opening was deferred while the Department of Education and Skills sought additional demographic information Commenting on the announcement Educate Together CEO Paul Rowe said We are delighted with today s announcement Well done to the start up groups who have been working hard to ensure their children can access their preferred model of education We look forward to working with the local community local authorities and the Department to make sure these schools open as efficiently as possible These schools represent a really positive step in our work to give Irish parents a choice of school type for their children s education Today s announcement is warmly welcomed by the parent groups that have campaigned for many years for access to Educate Together schools in their communities Jessica Ryan Chairperson of the Dublin 4 Educate Together Start up Group is celebrating the success of their campaign for an Educate Together school It is a great day for our community Walking down the street in Sandymount I am constantly amazed by the ever growing number of buggies and toddlers I see And now with the opening of this new Educate Together school in our community those families can feel confident that they have a choice about the type of education that their children will receive in their own area

    Open Their Doors Advocacy Media News National News Strategy Media Kit News Archive All Events School News Newsletters Publications Resources Annual Reports Accounts Resources Advocacy Our Campaigns EqualAccess EqualRespect Educate Together To Apply for Patronage of Six New Schools for 2017 and 2018 Research Annual Survey News News Releases Three New Educate Together Schools Open Their Doors 27 Aug 2013 9 00 Educate Together today marks the new school year with the opening of three new national schools Firhouse ETNS and Portobello ETNS open in Dublin and Rochestown ETNS accepts its first Junior Infant class in County Cork 2013 is another year of rapid growth for the Educate Together school network It is expected that total pupil numbers in Educate Together primary schools will grow by around 1 500 to exceed 16 000 for the first time This will make Educate Together the second largest supplier of primary education in the State after the Catholic Church This growth is due to widespread support for this equality based model of education amongst parents and the pioneering work of volunteers in many communities Principal of Rochestown ETNS Alan Sheehan is excited The furniture is ordered the computers are coming the games and toys have been bought all we need now are the pupils to arrive this week I look forward to our school becoming a vibrant part of the Rochestown community and developing into a centre of excellence in teaching and learning Principal Collette Dunne is just as enthusiastic about the opening of Firhouse ETNS The excitement is palpable Parents are helping us set up the classrooms and the Firhouse community have given us a warm welcome This will be a great school excelling in sports arts and ICT as well as academic subjects Portobello ETNS will opens in the former Film
