    of looking at preventive health care was required and in particular an enhanced method of communicating results to patients Working with Paul Mc Carthy they developed Full Health a software solution aimed at revolutionising preventative health The company is headquartered at the Business Innovation Centre in University College Galway Full Health is a software solution that allows medical practitioners to instantly generate a simple graphically designed patient report that explains what was tested why and what the results mean in the context of the patient s own personal set of circumstances It uses a library of thousands of possible outcomes of examinations measurements and blood work combined with personal medical history medications and lifestyle habits These outcomes were all written by registered medical doctors According to a leading Harvard epidemiologist Walter C Willett Moderate behavior changes could prevent more than 90 of type 2 diabetes 80 of coronary artery disease 70 of stroke and 70 of colon cancer Full Health is not just relevant for primary care but also for screening clinics laboratories corporate screening companies and health insurers worldwide who currently pay doctors for between 25 and 45 minutes of their time to interpret results and write reports Full Health allows the nurse to input the data based on the test profiles and the doctor can generate and approve the reports in under 60 seconds This allows for a huge saving of time and expense and allows a doctor to provide a better service to significantly more patients In the future it will be possible to also deliver this content via video to mobile devices Full Health is in commercial use in a number of leading primary care centres and also with the largest provider of work place health screening in Ireland Related Posts Ronan Clarke Smart Wall Paint

    by getting people to communicate and talk openly about it J P comments We wanted to create a space where people wouldn t be scared to talk about mental health as it will affect 1 in 4 of them at some stage First Fortnight happens in the first two weeks of January as that is when we all feel a little raw and are more likely to be open to an empathic response Dave says The arts reflect us as people so what better way to communicate than through a series of large and small scale arts events including music theatre film visual art spoken word poetry discussion and more In 2010 and 2011 they hosted a public mental health symposium followed by a live original music gig In 2012 they extended their programme into a full two weeks and had exhibitions arts based events and more as well as the gig and talk The 2012 event supported the See Change campaign to challenge mental health prejudice and discrimination and featured Diarmuid Gavin Eileen Dunne RoySeven and more They want the First Fortnight of every year to be synonymous with mental health awareness and ending discrimination prejudice and social stigma and plan to develop FF into Irelands only mental health awareness arts festival In 2012 with Genio Funding First Fortnightlaunch a pilot centre for creative art therapy employing two part time art therapist Today FF is still run and operated by seven volunteers and receives no regular annual funding We are both from Seskin View Tallaght D 24 and FF meetings still take place in the kitchen of the semi detached house we shared when the idea was originally conceived Related Posts Laura Dovn Ben Readman BLOCK T Agata Stoinska Blow Photography Magazine want to be the natural choice 4

    Times www blowphotomagazine com This is the second consecutive year that Agata Stoinska has been shortlisted for the David Manley Awards as an Emerging Arts Entrepreneur Architect turned photographer Agataset up Ireland s first A3 photography magazine Blow Photo Magazine in July 2010 which is aimed at photographers of all disciplines and offers a platform for both emerging and established Irish and international photographer to have their work published Agata together with Karolina Schlagner managing editor and their small team went against the trend of producing an online only magazine as they believe there is a strong need for printed editions of magazines especially in the visual arts arena They want the reader to take their time absorbing each image Blow is not a magazine to be flipped through rather our aim is for it to be a hand held exhibition for the reader says Agata Blow is now distributed in over 40 galleries and bookshops nationally and internationally and they have collaborated with many festivals and cultural events including PhotoIreland Festival ABSOLUT Fringe and the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival Starting with the new issue 06 they Blow will enter the US and Canadian markets This year for European Month of Photography in Berlin mid October to mid November BLOW organized an exhibition of emerging Irish based photographers in association with Culture Ireland and the Irish embassy in Berlin For the future Agata and Karolina want Blow to present young talents all over the Europe and also during different photo festivals and magazine fairs They want Blow to become a globally recognised Irish based visual arts magazine and to extend international distribution into Asian markets Related Posts Laura Dovn Ben Readman BLOCK T J P Swaine Dave Keegan First Fortnight want to be the natural choice 4 customers Commit
