the Fed makes its final decision While there is no question that the US Federal Reserve wants to get off the zero lower bound the message on how they do that will need to be carefully managed in the event that US CPI prices for November dip into negative territory the day before the Fed announcement is made While some have suggested that a rate rise is now a done deal the reality is that it is anything but Benjamin Franklin one of the founding fathers of the US once said that nothing can be said to be certain except death and taxes while Pliny the Elder said that the only certainty is that nothing is certain and investors would do well to remember that in the coming weeks CMC Markets is an execution only service provider The material whether or not it states any opinions is for general information purposes only and does not take into account your personal circumstances or objectives Nothing in this material is or should be considered to be financial investment or other advice on which reliance should be placed No opinion given in the material constitutes a recommendation by CMC Markets or the author that any particular investment security transaction or investment strategy is suitable for any specific person Sub menu Latest Blogs Oil truce sends WTI lower while stocks continue to recover North American traders return to oil production truce and fading China fears UK inflation in focus after McCafferty U Turn Stocks and oil rebound as positive news rebuilds confidence What s up with Yellen Gold and JPY today Open a live account Free demo account Losses can exceed your deposits Dublin Trader Network This forum event will be hosted by our Chief Market Analyst Michael Hewson and guest speaker Paul Wallace in the Gresham Hotel Dublin Register now UK inflation in focus after McCafferty U Turn Posted 16 02 2016 05 40 by Michael Hewson Read more Further reading US Earnings Season Preview Q3 2012 Q3 earnings season is now upon us bringing with it the potential for Relevant links Facebook how low can Compare CMC Markets FX Risks of spread betting Typical spreads Spread betting examples Spread betting examples Spread betting for the CFD Trading Examples Executing a trade FX trading examples FX trading examples Already CFD trading Follow Us Close Spread bets and Contracts for Difference CFDs are leveraged products and carry a high level of risk to your capital as prices may move rapidly against you Losses can exceed your deposits and you may be required to make further payments These products may not be suitable for all clients therefore ensure you understand the risks and seek independent advice Back to top Spread betting CFD trading Forex Trading platforms Range of markets News and Analysis Education About CMC Legal Spread betting Why spread bet with CMC Markets Spread betting costs What is spread betting Platform Advanced Charting News and Analysis Executing a Trade About us Client money PR

  • Europe to open higher as China data misses again | CMC Markets Ireland
it did the rug out from under the pound as the divergence between US and UK monetary policy diverged further last week Last week the pound slid 400 points against the US dollar after a surprisingly dovish quarterly inflation report pushed rate rise expectations out until late 2016 over concerns about the Chinese economy and Europe This week s UK unemployment and wages data could well pile further pressure on the Bank of England s relaxed policy stance particularly if it comes in as strong as last week s US data Wages in particular are already rising faster than US wages making the disparity between US and UK central bank policy all the more perplexing EURUSD Friday s sharp fall below the May and July lows at 1 0820 now opens up the prospect of a retest of the 1 0460 lows of earlier this year For this to unfold we need to stay below 1 0830 and the 1 0980 area GBPUSD the fall below the May lows at 1 5085 opens up the real possibility of a move below the 1 5000 level towards the lows this year at 1 4565 We need a recovery back above 1 5220 to stabilise and avoid this potential scenario EURGBP last week s key day reversal from 0 7041 suggests a return to the 0 7300 area in the short term For this to unfold we need to hold above the 0 7075 area and move above the 0 7160 area and the highs last week USDJPY last week s push through 122 00 now opens up the prospect of a move towards the 124 00 area and August highs at 125 30 Only a move below the 121 80 area would delay the prospect of this scenario unfolding CMC Markets is an execution only service provider The material whether or not it states any opinions is for general information purposes only and does not take into account your personal circumstances or objectives Nothing in this material is or should be considered to be financial investment or other advice on which reliance should be placed No opinion given in the material constitutes a recommendation by CMC Markets or the author that any particular investment security transaction or investment strategy is suitable for any specific person Sub menu Latest Blogs Oil truce sends WTI lower while stocks continue to recover North American traders return to oil production truce and fading China fears UK inflation in focus after McCafferty U Turn Stocks and oil rebound as positive news rebuilds confidence What s up with Yellen Gold and JPY today Open a live account Free demo account Losses can exceed your deposits Dublin Trader Network This forum event will be hosted by our Chief Market Analyst Michael Hewson and guest speaker Paul Wallace in the Gresham Hotel Dublin Register now UK inflation in focus after McCafferty U Turn Posted 16 02 2016 05 40 by Michael Hewson Read more Further reading US Earnings Season
