  • Europe to open lower, as China concerns dominate | CMC Markets Ireland
in November On the unemployment front recent data has shown a slow decline in unemployment rates and the expectation is that this could be maintained today with the latest EU unemployment and Italian unemployment numbers for November These are expected to remain steady at 10 7 and 11 5 respectively EU retail sales data for November might well disappoint though given the events of the 13th November in Paris and their after effects EURUSD while below the 1 0800 level the downward pressure towards 1 0600 remains where we have trend line support from the all time lows posted in October 2000 at 0 8220 A break below 1 0600 could see a return to 1 0465 and last year s low Rebounds should find resistance at 1 0820 and 1 0950 GBPUSD continued sterling weakness looks set to see a retest of the lows last year at 1 4565 with the 2010 lows at 1 4230 also a potential target We need to see a rebound back through the 1 4820 area to stabilise EURGBP continues to find resistance at the 0 7410 area with a break back below the 0 7280 area targeting a return to the 200 day MA at 0 7210 USDJPY the move below the 120 00 area targets a potential return to levels last seen in October last year at 118 10 with the potential for a move towards 116 00 A move back above the 120 30 area is needed to stabilise and argue for a return towards 122 20 CMC Markets is an execution only service provider The material whether or not it states any opinions is for general information purposes only and does not take into account your personal circumstances or objectives Nothing in this material is or should be considered to be financial investment or other advice on which reliance should be placed No opinion given in the material constitutes a recommendation by CMC Markets or the author that any particular investment security transaction or investment strategy is suitable for any specific person Sub menu Latest Blogs Oil truce sends WTI lower while stocks continue to recover North American traders return to oil production truce and fading China fears UK inflation in focus after McCafferty U Turn Stocks and oil rebound as positive news rebuilds confidence What s up with Yellen Gold and JPY today Open a live account Free demo account Losses can exceed your deposits Dublin Trader Network This forum event will be hosted by our Chief Market Analyst Michael Hewson and guest speaker Paul Wallace in the Gresham Hotel Dublin Register now UK inflation in focus after McCafferty U Turn Posted 16 02 2016 05 40 by Michael Hewson Read more Further reading US Earnings Season Preview Q3 2012 Q3 earnings season is now upon us bringing with it the potential for Relevant links Trading from charts Facebook how low can Advantages of CFDs Media releases Why trade CFDs with CMC Understanding the risks Mobile CFD trading

  • Is Sainsbury biting off more than it can chew? | CMC Markets Ireland
is indicative of the pressure that the retail sector on both the food side as well as the general retail side is under in the context of increasing competition and shrinking margins The reaction of Home Retail s share price to the Sainsbury bid is certainly instructive as it moved sharply higher and while we ve seen Sainsbury s share price slip it certainly doesn t mean that under the right conditions a successful bid might make sense The reality is that the food retail sector is likely to continue to be challenging in the weeks and months ahead and we ve already seen the beginnings of food retailer s diversification in 2015 Tesco already has Sports Direct concessions in some of its stores while Sainsbury not only has tie ups with Argos but Timpson as well This bid for Home Retail merely moves the process further forward into a fully integrated multi channel offering The bigger problem for Sainsbury if a bid is successful is what to do with the Homebase part of the business which it sold off a few years ago and that could well determine whether this particular bid is worth pursuing The material whether or not it states any opinions is for general information purposes only and does not take into account your personal circumstances or objectives Nothing in this material is or should be considered to be financial investment or other advice on which reliance should be placed No opinion given in the material constitutes a recommendation by CMC Markets or the author that any particular investment security transaction or investment strategy is suitable for any specific person Sub menu Latest Blogs Oil truce sends WTI lower while stocks continue to recover North American traders return to oil production truce and fading China fears UK inflation in focus after McCafferty U Turn Stocks and oil rebound as positive news rebuilds confidence What s up with Yellen Gold and JPY today Open a live account Free demo account Losses can exceed your deposits Dublin Trader Network This forum event will be hosted by our Chief Market Analyst Michael Hewson and guest speaker Paul Wallace in the Gresham Hotel Dublin Register now UK inflation in focus after McCafferty U Turn Posted 16 02 2016 05 40 by Michael Hewson Read more Further reading Why trade FX with CMC Markets Reasons to trade FX with CMC Markets Relevant links Facebook how low can Trading costs Trading costs Previous platform Complaints procedure General Instruments to be Spread betting examples Louis Cooper Spread betting examples About CMC What are CFDs Follow Us Close Spread bets and Contracts for Difference CFDs are leveraged products and carry a high level of risk to your capital as prices may move rapidly against you Losses can exceed your deposits and you may be required to make further payments These products may not be suitable for all clients therefore ensure you understand the risks and seek independent advice Back to top Spread betting CFD
