    with Helium Arts on the Cloudlands Dublin project The ceremony for the 23 rd annual awards was held on September 9 th at the National Concert Hall in Dublin The Allianz Business to Arts Awards recognise businesses artists and arts organisations that develop creative partnerships bringing the arts and artists into mutually beneficial relationships across society The Best Use of Creativity in the Community award was presented by President of Ireland Michael D Higgins to BNP Paribas Head of Territory Gilles de Decker and the Cloudland Project Manager at Helium Arts Avril Carr Cloudlands Dublin is the Irish project in the BNP Paribas Foundation Smart Start programme The 3 year arts and technology project supports the unique needs of children in hospital by working with an artist in residence It involves elements of performance and interactive film making and allows children in hospital to share their work with peers in other healthcare settings through a dedicated online platform This innovative project is counteracting social exclusion experienced by chronically ill teenagers and is demonstrating important psycho social outcomes BNP Paribas staff have voluntarily photographed the project on site attended artists talks and the project s public exhibition In recognising this partnership the judges hoped it would encourage BNP Paribas and Helium to extend their relationship and to use the Bank s extensive European reach to highlight this ground breaking work in the area of children s art and health in Ireland Gilles de Decker Head of Territory for Ireland said We are very honoured to be involved in such an important and progressive project I would like to thank Helium Arts for the inspirational work they do with the team at Temple St and indeed their innovation in making the project and its work accessible to BNP Paribas colleagues while respecting
