    double as a superb second half display saw the trophy head to the Tinny Shed for the next twelve months There was a hectic finish to this game as Ballincollig pounded the Douglas line in the final minutes to snatch a victory but Douglas s commitment and tenacious tackling saw them hold out for a deserved victory It was Ballincollig playing with the aid of a strong wind opened the scoring in the fifth minute when a quick counter attack involving scrum half Padraig Flynn and full back David Lucey sent winger Andrew Caughlan racing up the wing and he outpaced the Douglas defence to score in the corner but Kevin Doyle failed with the side line conversion attempt Two minutes later Douglas opened their account when Eoin Philpott kicked a penalty with a thirty five meter penalty into the wind Philpott was off target with another long range penalty effort minutes later but it was Ballincollig who began to dominate the exchanges especially in the scrums while Denis Casey was winning plenty of line out ball for the Tanner Park side Missed tackles by Douglas was also allowing Ballincollig to get the upper hand Kevin Doyle missed a simple penalty on the Twenty Two to extend his side s lead Four minutes into injury time Ballincollig struck with their second try It started on the halfway line with Kevin Doyle and Padraig Flynn linking up to send David Lucey on a forty meter run to score under the posts and Doyle converted for a 12 3 half time lead Douglas started the second half the better side and Philpott reduced the deficit with a penalty on forty eight minutes While Douglas were enjoying plenty of possession their handling of the greasy ball left them down on several occasions With

    Cork Charity Cup Competition Win Summer Camp Places U18 win League Final against local rivals Ballincollig RFC defeated in Martin O Sullivan Cup Final Ballincollig RFC advances into the Martin O Sullivan Cup Final Posted on April 29 2014 by jpeetz The 1st XV traveled to Dungarvan and had to play them in the Martin O Sullivan Cup Semi Final on Sunday 27th April The Munster branch rescheduled the match for a 12 30 PM Kick Off in order to give everyone a chance to watch the Munster HEC Semi Final against Toulon Straight from the kick off both teams showed great intentions to win this match But it took home side 20 minutes before they recorded the first score of the match a try which was left unconverted The visitors however replied immediately and Denis Casey scored a well worked try just 3 minutes later Both gave everything to come up on top for the rest of the first half but couldn t generate any proper scoring chance This left the half time score 5 point a piece 5 minutes into the second half Ballincollig was awarded with a penalty and Richard Dineen stepped up to convert it But Dungarvan didn t have to wait long to get the same chance presented and the converted penalty left the sides level on 8 points Ballincollig took the initiative from the restart and worked their way closer and closer to the Dungarvan try line This great effort was finally rewarded when Francois Olivier dived over from close range the conversion was missed however The visitors kept possession from the restart intelligently and worked their way forward once again Suddenly an opportunity opened and replacement John White made a clean break deep into the opponents 22 The home side was caught on

    to the family of Mary Kelly Early Bird Offer Open For Munster Rugby Summer Camp Ballincollig RFC Nutrition Information Evening sponsored by Quish s SuperValu Monday April 27th 8pm Tanner Park This years Annual General Meeting details Domestic Game News Munster Interpro Fixtures Garryowen Old Crescent Host AS Rugby Milano In Pics Cork English College Camp A Success New Format For Cork Charity Cup Competition Win Summer Camp Places Ballincollig Ladies win All Ireland Plate Final U18 win League Final against local rivals 1st XV write Club History by winning the Munster Junior Division 3 League Posted on April 16 2014 by jpeetz Ballincollig RFC had to travel to Waterford for the last installment of the Munster Junior Div 3 League The home side welcomed the visitors with a very strong physicality demonstrating huge strength in the maul of the line out as well as in the scrum Dungarvan made it very hard for Ballincollig to play any clean ball of a ruck or a won scrum The home side went up to 9 0 in the first half as their kicker converted his kicks with confidence Often enough it was Ballincollig coming close to the opponent try line but either a penalty or a handling error turned the ball over to a furiously defending home side In the second half Ballincollig was awarded with some kick able penalties unfortunately both just trailed wide to either side of the posts Late in the second half it was Podge Flynn who showed vision and spotted an opportunity on the wing and fired a skipping pass to Andy Coughlan He still had some footwork to do but great strength from his legs and upper body helped him over the whitewash scoring the defining try in the corner The following conversion was missed
