    is delivered through theory based lectures and presentations and practical skills classes and demonstrations Students will also undertake a minimum 40 hours of Clinical Placement observation in order to prepare completely for working in the field Duration The course is made up of 120 hours of in class learning Approx 4 weeks in total but generally the course is run on a week on week off basis 40 hours clinical placement 2 Days of examinations MCQ s and OSCE s with the Pre Hospital Emergency Care Council Assessment The assessment for this course is carried out by the PHECC There are two exams to be taken on separate days in order to receive qualification There is a 100 examination fee that is payable directly to the Pre Hospital Emergency Care Council Firstly candidates will sit an MCQ Multi Choice Question examination to test their theory knowledge retention and ability to apply this knowledge Secondly candidates will be required to sit the OSCE s Objective Structured Clinical Examination which is a practical based exam Upon successful completions candidates will be invited to apply for their practioners license and to join the national register Cost The course fee is 1900 this fee includes All course materials A pre learning pack which will allow students prepare for the course and familiarise themselves with content Certificates Tutorials Garda Clearance Necessary for completion of work experience Organisation of work placement by the Institute on your behalf Insurance for work placement OSCE preperation and refresher days before examination date Access to a supplementary online learning system for exam preperation Unrivalled learning and tutor support from or highly experienced staff There is an additional 100 examination fee which is payable by the student to the Pre Hospital Emergency Care Council Important Note Garda clearance is necessary for
