    issues that are of concern to them The research which was carried out by Ignite Research shows that the control and protection of our personal data is a key concern for Irish people Some 61 of those surveyed agreed that the control and protection of their personal data will become increasingly important to them within the next five years This figure grows to 68 for 45 54 year olds 90 of those surveyed agreed that the control and protection of their personal data will become increasingly important to them within the next 15 years Despite advances in payment technologies and platforms only 7 agreed that we will become a fully cashless society not carrying physical notes or coins in our pockets within the next five years However this figure grows to 49 within the next 15 years The survey also noted that 25 of 55 year olds agree that we will live in a cashless society in the next 6 10 years The growing significance of computer coding and app development was also highlighted in the survey and some 83 of the respondents said that computer coding and app development will be taught as part of the national curriculum from primary school within the next 20 30 years Older audiences agreed with this statement even more with some 90 of 55 year olds agreed The survey also shows that Irish people expect the employment sector to undergo drastic change consisting mainly of programmer developer or engineer based roles to service the robots and machines Some 55 of people agreed that this scenario will unfold in the next 30 years The subject of smart homes has been gaining traction in the media recently When probed about this 47 agreed that all devices and appliances in the home will become smart and
