Guangzhou College of SCUT was awarded “ 2019-2020 Foreign Exchange and Cooperation Advanced Group of Universities in Guangdong Province”

On January 14th, 2020 annual work summary meeting was opened by Working Committee of Foreign Culture and Education Experts of Universities of Guangdong Association of Higher Education (hereinafter called the ‘Committee’). Institutions and individuals with outstanding achievements in foreign communication were awarded at the meeting. GCU was honored with “Foreign Exchange and Cooperation Advanced Group of Universities in Guangdong Province”, becoming one of the sixteen award-winning universities in Guangdong province, also one of only two award-winning independent colleges.


At the meeting, the Committee recognized our achievements in internationalization of higher education in 2019 and breakthroughs in online internationally school-running form in 2020.


For years GCU has always followed the opening-up policy of China and Guangdong province. Centering on the cultivation concept of application-oriented talents cultivation, GCU is devoted to platform establishing, cooperation strengthening, quality and efficiency improvement, characteristic integration, feature excavation and branding building. Meanwhile, GCU upholds three pathways of development including international exchange, international cooperation and international certification, and insists on form innovations to continuously improve the ability in internationally school-running.


Lin Ying, the vice-president of GCU, in charge of foreign affairs expressed that it is the first time that GCU won the prize about foreign communication and cooperation, which showed the recognition of our achievements in internationalization of higher education by Department of Education of Guangdong province, Guangdong Association of Higher Education and related competent departments, also highlighted our leading position in internationalization of higher education compared with other colleges.



According to introducing, about 100 participants attended the meeting, mainly from related governing departments of Guangdong province. Li Jinjun, Division Chief of Exchange and Cooperation Office of Department of Education of Guangdong province, and Yang Huifang, Division Chief of Expert Service Office of Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong province presented at the meeting and delivered keynote speeches. Xia Hongwei, the Director of Office of International Relations of Peking University and the Deputy Chairman of Introduction Foreign Intelligence Work Branch of China Association of Higher Education was invited to share the experience of Office of International Relations of Peking University.
